out of interest found this on youtube, NYSpurs, looked like they enjoyed it!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2uMjhEH4Yw

I went to that pub (can't recall it's name - an Irish pub, the Daniel O'Rielly or something???), while travelling through NY. Saw the 1st leg of the Spurs v Burnley CC game last year.

Fair to say it was a bit more mellow than that (Spurs 4-1), but the NY Spurs were a great bunch.

I was sat with my Man City supporting mate at his place. Gave a big cheer when we scored and then felt really bad for my mate as I knew how he was feeling after our failed season in 2006. I didn't want to rub it in so had one final beer, went home and went mental.

When Crouch scored I screamed my head off whilst running around the living room before sitting back down and not saying another word for the remainder of the game, feeling sick. Had tears in my eyes at the final whistle, the girlfriend said stop being so pathetic, but she is a city fan!

A glass of brandy at the full-time whistle. Don't think I've ever ordered it in a pub before - more of a Guinness man (ale, till I got exiled to the home of the black stuff) - but that was the sweetest smoothest drink I've had in a very long time. Actually, think I might just go and pour another one. 10.30 am? - never too early to start......

Was a bit delicate, wife had a friend over for dinner so I didn't want to seem a total cretin and watch the game instead of being sociable, and seeing as my wife and her friend are Italian and we live in France, I didn't have much of a hope to really impress on them the history-altering importance of this match.

But amazingly wife's friend actually had heard of Spurs and even knew we were 4th, so I didn't feel so guilty running over the computer to see the 0-0 on 30'. Spent the rest of the match stalking up and down the living room, apparently muttering to myself don't know what waiting for the inevitable collapse, dodgy ref decision or lasagne to ruin our season, was standing in the hallway staring at the wall when the wife called over, "I think you just scored", and had to stare incredulously as the new, non-bottling Spurs did a Catenaccio (according to the girls) and came out winners.

The streets were filling up with people celebrating, which I found odd but hey, anything is possible, I went out on the balcony, shouted Yiddo, and pumped my fist and the cheered back at me, everyone loves Spurs.

This morning upon awaking I realized that they were celebrating Marseille winning the title over here, but never mind.

Wife told me to stop shouting as I'd wake up the baby, but I wanted to wake her up, lucky girl only had to wait six months to experience something the rest of us have waited for decades...

Anyway the girls took it all in good form, we all went to the bedroom for a 3some to finish off a perfect night. Well actually we didn't, but the night was perfect anyhow.

Woke up at 6 am feeling chipper and immediately thought, shit, that's not possible, I must still be drunk, and I've got lots of work to do today seeing as yesterday I didn't exactly earn my salary spending all day reading every scrap of news and half-wit pundit's views about the game.

But apparently I'm ok, the world is just a better place now, everything shines.

Just loving your post, mate. loving it. Especially the bit about Marseille. You're not wrong about Catenaccio - who'd've thunk it, eh?

When Crouch scored I screamed for as long and loud as I ever have.
Same at full time with added tears.

Then I got my phone and text this girl I recently
met and like. I explained how much I liked her,
she totally shot me down and now won't
talk to me.
I'm quite upset but you know, who cares, were in
the Champions leauge!

I missed the who ref confusion thing as i ran into the dining room and ran around the kitchen quietly saying yes you beauty to myself. If I had of woken my son I would have been killed.

I made up for it by sending him to creche in his spurs shirt.

No tears, just a relief, all the tension gone.

Looking forward to Arsenal choking on Sunday now, what sweet revenge for lasagnegate that would be.

Screamed, woke up the kids, stepped on a nail while trying to find my Spurs flag in the basement, cleaned up a lot of blood, put the Spurs flag on my balcony, cried over Spurs for the first time in my life, went to bed with a big smile on my face :-D
