Just to be a bit of a killjoy regarding some of the budgets in here (which to be fair, if we back Conte fully, may not be as wild as they first may seem) but don't forget we have to pay up for Romero, Bentancur and Kulusevski in the summer.

Not sure about that. We've agreed to buy Bentancur and will have paid first instalment in Jan, with further to follow in subsequent Jan's.

The other 2 aren't release clauses, they are just agreement's that we will pay over 3/4 years as usual.

surely Paratici would use similar arrangements for new transfers to defer the payments

Agreed to an extent on both these but just felt it was worth noting that some people's net-spend has to be impacted by these instalments, which aren't necessarily small amounts in the scheme of things when you consider what we're trying to shift to net things off.

We already bought Bentancur, and in theory, we could wait another season to pay for Kulusevski (it'll be a bit more expensive, but it could still be a smart move).
My guess is that the biggest reason we chose to loan Kulusevski was to hedge our bets in case he didn't pan out, so while we'll have to pay for it this summer it's not unlikely the sum itself is part of this seasons budget.
Romero was only a loan because there's only a set amount of moves you can make in a year on a permanent, and therefore it's been suggested that it's also part of this seasons budget, not the next.

Which is why we will do loan+buy option forever. Eventually one of those options won't be activated because it will be end of the world/WW3 and it will be a massive win for Levy.

Hakimi? Guess I’m missing something as a few people have mentioned his name but seems like a pipedream to me

It was in the press a few weeks back stating that he wanted to leave as non of the South American players wanted to speak to him.

Can’t see it myself and if it’s true I imagine it’ll be someone City look at.

The credibility behind the rumour was that he’d previously worked under conte at inter
I think we might have also declared an interest in him when he left Dortmund too.
If he became available I’m sure plenty of other clubs would be interested- not least Madrid who need a rb to replace Vazquez

he played 120 minutes last night never stopped running and looked no slower now than he ever did... even in the last 10 minutes he seemed to be fresher than anyone else on the pitch.

Don't really know how I can say this without being offensive.

The guy is an absolute freak.

Just seen on Twitter that Conte and Paratici are apparently crazy about Milinkovic-Savic... and we'll be going for him in the summer - yes please! Not sure on source seems to be La Lazio Siamo Noi via SW

Hakimi started in two of our big CL nights (3-1 against Madrid and 3-0 against Dortmund) and thought to himself, 'one day I'll play for the massive Tottenham Hotspur'.

Don't see much point in buying Philipps - he's not miles ahead of Skipp and would be expensive

Dybala isn't coming to be a back up to Deki

Modric would be a dream

Asensio
Pau Torres
Bissouma
Caudrado - I know he’s old but I don’t expect us to be rolling in cash and so he could be good until the following summer.

It's about alternatives bud, not instead of.

We've seen how missed Skipp is. Isn't an alternative what we're supposed to be all about?

There's also a Danish guy who I'm scared to mention, but feel Phillips would be an upgrade upon.

See.

Just after a chat yesterday about continually seeing this guys name pop up, yet so many people seem to think he's too weak for the league, not great in the air etc.

Apparently a lovely passer of the ball, but that's seemingly it?

Don't get me wrong, I totally see that. But if we're after a new CM, and I can see why we would be, I'd like it to be someone who can really take us forward.

I'm not sure Philipps is that guy, albeit being home grown would be a bonus.
