I am so excited to feel the excruciating pain of Man City buying Porro back just to have him sit on their bench while we watch Emerson highlight reels of him completing a throw-in.

Why? We signed Bentancur instead and have a full roster of CMs for how Conte wants to play. Or are we writing off Bissouma and Skipp? I'd much rather we focused on RWB, CB and replacing Moura with proper back up for Kulusevski.
Like I said not a priority, but no doubt Amrabat is miles ahead of Skipp and whatever we think about Skipp coming good over time, Conte will be all about the present. Its a squad game and a centre mid four of Bentancur, PEH, Bissouma and Amrabat would likely be as good as it gets for now.
Again, not a priority as I already said and just something Conte may prefer, as we are constantly being linked to centre mids. Personally I would prefer to see a right wing back and centre half as the priority signings.

He has to be better than most of our foreign midfielders imo, Skipp's situation is boosted with his club trained status.

With credible links that he’s Inter’s top choice to replace Dumfries, I think there’s a reasonable chance it will be Emerson who makes way.

We’ve struggled to shift our deadwood since the pandemic hit. Reguilon, Lo Celso, Ndombele, and Rodon are all players who would have buyers under normal economic conditions, but with clubs all over Europe being skint we’ve had to loan them.

If Inter comes in with a good offer we’d be foolish to turn it down. Everyone knows Emerson doesn’t have a future at the club, we need to sell him if we can because the chance may have gone come the summer.
Inter have no money. They only want to loan or offer cheap money. They could have got Akanji but went for Acerbi on loan with 4.5m buy option. If you think we could get good money for Emerson from them, sorry. It won't happen.

Perhaps, but they have 3 CBs (2 of which only have 6 months contract left) that we’re potentially after right now, so if they don’t play silly buggers then there’s a deal that can be done in there IMO.

Little bit concerned this is too out in the open, considering this is the type of transfer we'd want to keep quiet until it's long down the line.
Why? It’s hardly a secret we need a RWB and if another club want to buy him they will have been monitoring the situation and speaking to his agent. It’s not like Real Madrid are following Spurs web on Twitter and are now thinking “s**t spurs are making a bid, we best get a move on”
As we know from Diaz in Jan, if we bid the agent will notify any other interested party to try to make more money.

Are there even any other big clubs in dire need of a RB/RWB who could feasibly gazump us?

United, Chelsea, City, Pool and Arsenal are all fine at RB and have more high priority positions to fix this Jan.
Juve are in crisis, Inter have no money, PSG have Hakimi, Bayern just bought Mazraoui, and are Barca even allowed to make any more signings after how many levers they pulled?

I struggle to see any other clubs being willing to spend what we are on a player like him in the Jan window tbh. I think if we're willing to pay up for him and he wants to come we should get him.

Juve in crisis alerts me. Wonder if Vlahovic would be available

We never messed up, we went with Bentancur which was fine but for under £10 mil it would have been a great buy. What it shows though is FP knows his players.
Hopefully people learn from that the next time we get linked to someone 'underwhelming'.

What are the collective thoughts on "The Wolf" via twitter? I saw a few tidbits from him/her, but don't want to add if they are unreliable.

Were people saying Bentancur was underwhelming at the time? I feel like most people were pretty happy with that one
I was thinking about Amrabat. Although he's not proven in the PL like Bentancur is, it's funny how we didn't want him last year and now people are creaming themselves over him.
I absolutely love Bentancur, so I'm happy things turned out the way they did, but still.

I think it's ok if it's outside of the ITK thread but worth double checking unless you're bored and want A&C's stick rammed up you.

Well, rather than risking that - I would simply point people to twitter - Spurs ITK Hub (an aggregator) has a couple of snippets from "The Wolf" who is rated as "Tier 2"

Nothing earth shattering - a couple of names at RW, and a couple of alternative to Porro at RWB
