Seems odd for me to say, but I hope we don't bring a right back in and he's given his opportunity next season
Out of curiosity who are the two?

Agree. There's no point having a great youth system if your best youth players don't then get a chance to play. If we buy a replacement for Walker then you might as well kiss KWP's spurs career goodbye. The lad needs to be playing certainly next year in not this year
If he's good enough he'll find his way up to the first team, Winks was 5th choice at the beginning of last season and now he's arguably behind Wanyama and Dembele for a midfield starting spot.
Mmmm, kind of. Full back is a bit different. If he has 2 RB's ahead of him he'll be relying on injuries to get any game time at all as without at least one RB injured he won't even be on the bench. It's a lot easier to rotate in young midfielders, there are more bench spaces for them and you can be flexible with the formation
I didn't advocate bringing in anyone from a foreign league. If you are referring to perreira he's been playing at a much higher level than KWP.As would any RB brought in from a foreign league
The point is that Poch will know when he's ready as he'll asses him in training, he seems to be a very good judge of player especially for full backs. Winks barely had much match day experience before he came in and started playing, can see the same with KWP.
Let's see how KWP goes against PSG, Roma and Man City. You would think he would get 45minutes in each of those games.I am really struggling to get behind the notion this kid could be/will be our 2nd choice right back (more likely rotation, due to the physical demands poch places on his full backs and the number/regularity of games).
The kid has never played a competitive senior game. I'm all for youth etc but he'll get his chance is this checkatrade Cup this season.
If trippier got injured or suspended at any point, would you be happy with KWP starting against city, Chelsea, United etc? Personally I think it would be a car crash, and not just for the team, but also him mentally.
Looking good against decent (but not outstanding) prospects in your own age category is one thing. Playing against some of the best in the world is a very different kettle of fish.
In poch I trust and all that and maybe I'm a pessimist and he's actually a right footed Roberto Carlos but I just don't see it, yet. I'm very hopeful in time but let's not let the football hipsters overhype this kid and ruin him before he's ready.
Don't anyone reply mentioning Dele Alli by the way. That argument is ridiculous.
Playing first team football in most foreign leagues is no way comparable to youth/reserve football, and we won't be signing players from foreign leagues where the standard is lower than our reserve league expecting them to ply in the first team.As would any RB brought in from a foreign league
Play him LB against Man City just to fuck with themLet's see how KWP goes against PSG, Roma and Man City. You would think he would get 45minutes in each of those games.
If he looks out of his depth. Then we sign another right back. If he holds his own then we should persist with promoting him to the backup role.
Bellerin went from pretty much the U21's to the first team and was a huge successPlaying first team football in most foreign leagues is no way comparable to youth/reserve football, and we won't be signing players from foreign leagues where the standard is lower than our reserve league expecting them to ply in the first team.
Never Griffiths he is a future star in my eyes.Knowing @edson it will be Eyoma and I reckon Griffiths or Sterling
@IGSpur and others....much of this is on the left.....is he better/ same at RB?Sell all our fbs!
Seriously though I watched him in a couple of youth games a couple of years ago and he was by far the best player in both games. I am really disappointed he hasn't got any game time yet.
He is in training with 4 of the best full backs in the country, if he can show he is close surely Poch can give him a few starts.
He has to play in preseason and given a chance.
Looks amazing in that vid though!!
Sure, an example of success.Play him LB against Man City just to fuck with them

If Chambers, Debuchy and Monreal, didnt get injured Bellerin wouldn't have got his chance at 19 years old and been a huge success and a season later he was voted the best RB in the league.
Kyle Walker barring his physical attributes, Walker wasnt great at anything imo. Personally I think the final third KWP is better than Walker.
Is he a great prospect, but lets not get ahead of ourselves his never even played a senior game yet, can't even compare to Kyle WalkerPlay him LB against Man City just to fuck with them
