Brilliant.

"Chadli doesn't look like scoring" - 11 goals last season
"Lamela doesn't look like doing it" - our second highest scorer this season with 4 already
"Dembele doesn't look as though he's going to do it" - 3 goals in his last 3 games

Phil Thompson - professional drunk.
And Chadli's fucking injured.

I agree about the poor research. Chadli and Eriksen have a good track record, and we added Son and Alli to that. As Lamela, Dembele, Dier and Mason have all already matched their total output for last season, it is an ill-researched claim from Thompson. That said, I don't think we should just compare ourselves to Liverpool.
TBF he said this before the Villa game on Soccer saturday, still a poor claim, so dembele hadn't scored 3 then

Last time I commented on Lawro/Thomo I got banned, I still have the same feelings though

All you last 3 warnings have been "Censor Evasion" :D

So you're most likely right in what you're saying but not letting the site sensor it. ;)

It's in here because I didn't want to start a 'Merson Predicts' thread as none of us really care what the fat **** says but have you seen this???

http://www.skysports.com/football/news/15205/10063926/mersons-top-four-prediction

I nearly fell off my chair...so much for under the radar...bugger!

'phenomenal' he said!!! - Wow - I think Merson is pissed up again!

(Phenomenal he can actually spell phenomenal!)

He's bigging us up so he can laugh even harder if we don't finish third. Bastard.

He has people to do his spelling.

Let's see what Charlie Nicholas has said:

Tottenham have got a real shot at finishing in the top four, but when I watched them take the lead at the Emirates they had the chance to kick on and win that match, but weren't adventurous enough.

It's okay playing the squeezing game and working off the other team's mistakes but there's another side of the game where, when it opens up, you have to wrap up the three points. I haven't seen enough of that from them.

There are also still issues with depth. Their centre-backs have done really well, but where's the cover? I'm not a fan of their full-backs and they rely on Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris a lot.

Charlie predicts: Tottenham to finish fifth

OK, so firstly, I don't know what he means by not being adventourous enough, the issue was taking the chances not creating them, and we completely dominated them for 75 minutes.

Depth issues? We have 4/5 CBs (if you include Dier), so we've got plenty of cover, even in the youth teams. And he's talking out of his arse even more if he thinks our full-backs are the issue, we're well-stocked there as well and all 4 are PL-proven and all of them (maybe with the exception of Trippier) have been very good this season.

I love how people like him will lambast us for the signings we made, which led us to having a big squad, but when we shed those players we suddenly have no depth.

Oh, and guess who he predicted to finish 4th?

Southampton.

Southampton.

Not a fan of our full backs? Remind us how Sanchez got on against Walker please Charlie, I think you will find he is still trying to claw his way out of his pocket!!

Lawro has predicted us to win 2-0 and said some good things about us ahead of Sunday - which makes me feel a bit uneasy tbh.

Amusingly he predicts Liverpool to draw at City, which means that 13 games in he still hasn't predicted a defeat for Liverpool all season!

I think they went unbeaten in his league last season as well. Mental bias.

Tottenham v West Ham (16:00 GMT)

West Ham have hit the headlines with some great results this season but Tottenham have been consistently excellent in recent weeks, with their performance in their draw with Arsenal a good example.

Spurs are playing with real confidence and they don't look like conceding many goals which means they don't have to play well to win. On top of that, they have got Harry Kane in form up front and scoring too.
Most of those stand-out Hammers wins have come away from home but I just think Spurs will have too much nous for them.
Dimitri Payet's injury is a big blow for West Ham and they will miss his creativity a lot in the next few months.
Lawro's prediction: 2-0

I am still not convinced by Chelsea although they have won their last couple of games.

But I think they have got enough about them to go to White Hart Lane and pick up a point.

Spurs are playing extremely well and have not lost in the league since the opening day of the season but they have drawn a lot of those games and I can see that happening again here.

Lawro's prediction: 1-1

Deng's prediction: As an Arsenal fan, there is no winner here - I don't like either team, so I need a draw, even if in my heart I really think Spurs are going to win. 1-1

If we'd had a stronger squad and been able to leave Kane at home I'd be very confident of smashing Chelski.

Anyone's quess as to how it will pan out now. Would be remarkable for HK to have a great game Sunday so quickly after that trip but that's what we'll need again
