Laughing at Lawro has actually become part and parcel of my weekend football routine.

But spare a thought for those Invited to show even less nous than he does every week. I'm convinced a pot plant or piece of fruit could get more right.

What ever happened to intelligent debate of the nations number one sport?

Lawro is complete prick...his bi-polar/schizophrenic predictions do my nut in...Newcastle are poor, Spurs are in good form and at home. Prediction 1-1

In other ex-footballer predictions, the fat alchy over at Sky Sports has spoken...

Tottenham v Newcastle

It just shows how ruthless this league can be sometimes. Newcastle beat Liverpool and then have to go to White Hart Lane, against a Spurs side who have lost just once this season.

But I think Spurs are getting into that mould at the moment, they're maybe a tad tired, and they look to be going out with the attitude of making sure they don't lose the game before they go out to win the game.

Newcastle's result was phenomenal, but I do expect Spurs to win this, they are a good side with in-form players. They need to break down the brick wall here after two draws.

PAUL PREDICTS: 3-0

Wtf is this dick 'ed talking about????

Clearly he is going for a draw because his beloved didnt beat them last week and therefore there is no way in this world we are going to beat them because even though we have finished above them all but one season for 7 years. they are better than us.

Lawro said

Spurs are doing really well at the moment and haven't lost a game since day one when they had to score for utd because 0-0 would have looked boring.
Where as newcastle have looked like relegation contenders since day one apart from that completely unjust victory over liverpool where they fluked the win by scoring 2 goals that should not have been goals and liverpool scored 1 goal that should have been a goal meaning a true result of 0-8 to liverpool would have been correct.

Tottenham look weak from corners and crosses and Newcastle once scored from a corner in 1994 and scored from a cross in 2001 therefore i can see no other result then 0-5 and the geordie's to continue there shocking form.

One of the best thing about living in the state of Maine in the USA is that no one has the slightest clue about who or what that bindipping tosser Lawro is, giving great credence to our state's slogan "the way life should be"!

Southampton v Tottenham
Southampton have only taken one point from their last four league games, and this is not the first time they have gone through a spell where they do not look like scoring.

Tottenham have been in much better form but their long unbeaten run was ended by Newcastle last week and it will not be easy for them to bounce back from that straight away.

Lawro's prediction: 2-1

vs

Watford v Liverpool (13:30 GMT)

Watford have now won three games in a row to climb to seventh.

Most of Liverpool's best performances under Jurgen Klopp have been away from home, but they have also come when Klopp has used a false number nine.

At Newcastle, with Christian Benteke leading the line they were poor. They have not used him properly yet, and it will be interesting to see if they manage to do that here.

Lawro's prediction: 1-2

So Southampton have 1 point from 4 games
and can't score goals. But Spurs lose 1 game in 15 and therefore it's going to be really hard for them to get back to winning ways??

Watford, one of the form teams in the premier league and who have one of the leading goal scorers. I'll write one line about them. Then I'll waffle some rose tinted crap about Liverpool being good away from home (their last six home games gained 9 points while their last 6 away gained 8) and forget they were shit awful the past two games and celebrated a draw against West Brom like they won the league. So with that evidence Liverpool will win the game.

Oh and he's running out of superlatives to describe Leicester, yet he's only predicted them to win 2 games all season.

The guys a prize prick.

Hmm, for all the criticism this thread went very quiet after the result on Sunday.

I don't think it's necessarily just the results he picks that winds people up, a big part of it is his write-ups (and his bias towards Liverpool). So often he'll say one thing and predict another or his write-ups will be based on nothing factual and are almost never insightful.

Look at the one for today, Southampton are on an awful run and don't look like scoring but Spurs got beat by Newcastle and won't be able to bounce back from that (despite the fact we've bounced back well from previous defeats this season). If he was saying something along the lines of Spurs have been looking pretty average since beating West Ham a month ago and was suggesting we need to up our game to get something out of this then I think it'd be fair enough to predict a Southampton win but he probably isn't even aware that we've been quite poor recently.

He's supposed to be a professional pundit yet talks more shit than the drunk know-it-all football fan who sits in the pub all day shouting rubbish at the tv screen and has never kicked a ball in his life.

Exactly. For the Norwich/Everton game his reasoning for a Norwich win was that they hadn't won for ages and Everton hadn't lost for ages.

Saying all that, some of his result predictions are ridiculous. How has he possibly not adjusted to the fact that Leicester are a good side this season? He's predicted them to win 2 games all season!

Good good. I prefer it when he has us chalked up for a loss.

Hopefully Southampton won't sit back and our front four can get back into the groove and give us an early Christmas present

I don't really have much of an opinion on his veracity as a pundit or match result 'guesser', although his comments and predictions are, for sure, absolutely bizarre sometimes. But for those not familiar with 'Lawro', he enjoyed a remarkably good career - fair play;

5 League winners medals
3 Lge cup winners medals
2 Charity Shield winners medals
1 FA cup winners medal
1 European Cup winners medal
