If the interest was in Novemeber, why an earth would his agent let him sign another contract in December ?

I'm just speculating but I wonder if Barca asked about him with a view to signing him in January and he asked to leave? He would have been able to play in Europe for them if he'd moved and I think Barca had a bit of a bad start to season by their standards. Liverpool would have refused to sell but may have been forced to give him an improved contract for the rest of the season with a clause that lets him move to Spain with no fuss this summer.

Either that or the Uruguay coach is as full of shit now as he was when he first started defending Suarez.

Any further developments in this? Seems to have gone quiet. Could do with him throwing a strop throughout pre season to disrupt their plans like we've had done to us for the last 8 years running.

Barca mouth piece claiming that the deal will be announced in today and that Barca had activated a clause that meant they pay €20mill less than PL clubs and the deal will be between €70m and €73m(£55.7million and £58million)

Whilst I understand your point the FA have plenty of incentive for the deal to go through
1) they are rid of a player who has a poor disciplinary record
2) he has bought poor publicity to the English game
3) they get a cut of any transfer in/out so it's income from a massive deal ( plus income from the buy-ins that Liverpool spend)

How much do the FA make on transfers? I'm sure there is an inflated administration fee,
but compared the income they make from TV, it would be insignificant.
But sure, the FA work for the Premiership clubs and do what they are told.
They would not hold up the sale, despite Suarez effectively sticking his finger up at them.

an arsenal fan did something similar with the barca website screengrab announcing sanchez's departure:

Ha!! the media are such parasites. We've had a few people on here make it onto these types of websites with fake kits and the ITK has been stolen from here and used too. Being a football website journo must be the easiest job in the world, they might as well just make things up themselves as it would save time and isn't much different from their current strategy.

Goals and competitiveness
Luis Suárez is one of the most productive strikers in European football. Since turning professional (2005/06) he has always scored at least ten league goals a season, whether at Groningen, Ajax or Liverpool. The 27 year old is heading for the Camp Nou as holder of the Golden Boot after hitting 31 goals for Liverpool last term, which means he has topped the scoring charts in both Holland and England.

The fifteenth Uruguayan to play for FC Barcelona is not just a prolific scorer, he also has a strong competitive spirit and a powerful figure, and he’s coming to Barça in search of even more. Luis Suárez thus adds his name to the impressive list of world class strikers that have played for the club in recent years, and is the fifth to have arrived with a Golden Boot among his honours.

@Toela65 how stupid do you feel right now after that pathetic statement you made?

I wonder how the school feel as after all he enrolled his daughter there? That's an unbreakable contract isn't it?

Hopefully this will act as a wake up call for you not to come onto other teams forums and give it the big un.
