That doesn't make anyone happy - either kick him out now or tell the players to put up with it, surely.

Seems an odd decision, wonder what their "new direction" will be - presumably pinching Alonso from Leverkusen?

The ideal scenario is Alonso goes to Bayern and Liverpool resorting to looking to plan B (whoever that is).

.....that's after Alonso wins the league for Leverkusen mind.

Or Alonso stays where he is and goes for Champions League.

Well, yes but the viewpoint for me is reducing Liverpool's best chance of succession planning first and foremost.
Won't happen IMO. I think Liverpool are a more attractive proposition than Bayern right now. Far less of a soap opera.

My guess would be Alonso to Liverpool, and maybe Flick back to Bayern for a year while they wait to get Klopp the following year.

I'm curious as to why any international side ever extends a coach's contract in the lead up to a major tournament. You can argue that it preaches stabilty and takes some pressure off the performance in the upcoming tournament but this is Spain, they have to be aiming to win it regardless. So what good does it do?

All it does is that it makes it more expensive for them to relieve him if things go completely south.

John Coleman has been in charge of Accie for 23 years over two spells, with a two year interlude. That's longevity!

Didn't know where to put this - so it's here.
Frank Lampard on a shortlist for Canada men's team!
Why? WTF has he done to be offered an international job? I don't get him being in the frame at all- The Canadian FA need to look in their mirrors if they offer him the job.
