That West Brom side leaves me the impression of being one of the least terrible squads to bottom out in the Premier League.

Totally agree. And in fact, none of the relegation teams/squads this year are out-and-out awful. All of them have decent players and reasonable squads. Just look at Palace and Southampton - loads of good players and, both teams capable of playing good football. Even Stoke are far less bad than in seasons when they were mid-table.

The three teams that go down this year will be among the best ever to be relegated. I guess this is a sign of the money in the PL these days - even relegated teams are good.

If i was Pardew I'd go abroad, somewhere in the second tier or a quiet league in the middle east or China, just to rebuild his own confidence in being a manager.

It's just been downhill for him since he quit Everton.

No need to worry about Pardew because of idiot Chairmen who keep appointing him to PL jobs his bank account is full to overflowing.

Which makes the consistent appointments of dinosaur managers who make their teams play shit football all the more baffling.

Incredible how a handful of managers keep getting sacked in the Prem and walk into another job there, like some grotesque game of musical chairs. Would love to see some managers from the lower leagues get a chance, rather than the endless recycling of Hughes, Pardew, Pulis, Allardyce and probably some others I've forgotten.

Exactly. Young British managers not being given a chance is more to do with Hughes, Redknapp, Allardyce, Pardew, Hodgeson etc. than this perpetual "Jonny Foreigner taking jobs off hard working British managers" stereotype peddled out by the idiots on Sky Sports.

Eighteen games too late! I can't help but think with his degree in psychology or whatever it is, he interviews well, he's one of these professional interview passers, he's just a fucking hopeless football manager.
I think he'd be a great replacement for Arsene Wenger though.

The PL managerial game of musical chairs with the old english managers deserves its own benny hill theme song.

See you in the prem next year again, Alan.

Another of this type is Paul Clement. When he's out of football, he talks to the media like a serious, sober-minded grown-up. The very epitome of a cool head. I suspect he interviews brilliantly. But the moment he's put in charge, he turns into a hot, sweaty, mumbling mess. A panic merchant and buck-passer. And of course he's just walked into another very good job, at Reading. I'd be surprised if he lasts a year.

Its harsh putting Hodgson in with those other managers. At least he's proved himself abroad and taken a small team to a European final.

Any recommendations for the next WBA manager? Mick McCarthy seems to be favourite at the moment.
