Pardew sacked by West Brom. As bad an appointment as I think I've ever seen in the PL.

Mystifying that they let him last so long, they might have had a chance 2 months ago but now they seem truly fucked.

Any top flight club that employs him again should get a points deduction.

The longer it went on, the more I thought they'd just let him go down with the ship

Imagine your club has been struggling, you wake up to read the manager's been sacked and replaced by Alan Pardew. How depressing.

I mean, we've had some real wronguns over the years, and in fact Redknapp was a very successful old boys club appointment, but at least we've tried to think out of the box most of the time.

It must be shit being the fan of a club that has such old duffers in charge who cannot think more creatively than Pardew, Hughes, Allardyce, Pulis etc. just because what hope do you ever have of building something long term and sustainable with those dinosaurs in charge?

If i was Pardew I'd go abroad, somewhere in the second tier or a quiet league in the middle east or China, just to rebuild his own confidence in being a manager.

It's just been downhill for him since he quit Everton.

Newcastle?

He should quit management and move aside for some younger coaches to be given a chance. These egotistical pricks are blocking the path and are offering nothing to the game. Managing a club for a year or so, picking up a healthy salary and pay-off. Its hurting the English game massively.

I think that by definition, employing him sort of comes with a built in points deduction.

No need. Pardew will take care of that.

I think they kept him on because there was a break clause in his contract at the end of the season which meant they could get rid of him on the cheap. It says he's left by mutual consent so I guess they've avoided some of the payoff.

That West Brom side leaves me the impression of being one of the least terrible squads to bottom out in the Premier League. If they had made the right appointment at the time, they would've most certainly given themselves a chance to stay up, and I can see several of their players being snatched up by top flight sides for next season.

I was genuinely annoyed when they brought in Pardew, and that decision has now got to go down in history as one of the worst blunders made by a Premier League side. This relegation is firmly on those responsible for this appointment.

I went through their squad now and bloody hell, that squad really shouldn't go down. I expect to see all of Rodriguez, Evans, Chadli, Gibbs, Dawson and Foster in a PL or other top flight side next season. Maybe even the kid Sam Field who's been decent. Someone may well take a punt on Rondon or Hegazi as well.

They have completely chuffed this up, there's no two ways about it.
