Allegri would be my guess.

Allegri is probably the highest rated available manager in the world. He could pretty much walk into any of the top jobs in Europe so I think he'd be mad to join Chelsea now given everything that's going on. He'd be better off having a well-earned break and waiting for Barca/Real/PSG/Bayern etc. jobs to come up, or even Man Utd when the OGS experiment inevitably goes tits up

Gary Monk sacked by Birmingham.
Birmingham are such a weird club, or rather their board and owners are so weird. Monk did a good job with a load of nothing last season, even with the points deduction they were never in danger of relegation, and then they sack him because, quote.

"The board of directors are hopeful that over time the team can adopt a fresh and modern footballing philosophy," a statement said.

It's like when they sacked Rowett and brought Zola in all over again. Remind me, how did that work out?

It does seem like there's more to it than just style of football. From what I've read the fans seemed to like him so it's not like they were demanding the change.

It's going to interesting to see who they appoint now.

By all accounts Monk threatened to walk if they sold Jota, who left for Villa this month, so there must have been some tension there that the owners decided they didn't want around.

Still think it's a weird decision. Brum fans now want Hughton and are worried Monk will go to Derby when Lampard is appointed at Chelsea.

Hughton would do a good job, but I don't see how his style could be described as "a fresh and modern footballing philosophy". The owners have backed themselves into a bit of a corner.
Derby would probably make sense for Monk. I could see that happening if Lampard leaves.

Can't see why Hughton would want to go there tbh. Complete shambles for years now.
