Any mention in this thread so far of the Marcelo Bielsa link to Leeds? Another pretty astonishing link - can't quite see how that will work and i'd have figured there were bigger jobs out there for him.

Hasn't he burned bridges at every club he has been at?

Definitely a difficult manager in a few ways but didn't think his stock had dropped quite so far? Problems at his last 2 appointments make him a big gamble though but his coaching is still admired massively.

I think Bielsa was a big deal about 5 years ago, but think things may have bypassed him a bit since then.

If he went to Leeds he'd be gone within a month I reckon.

With the rate of managers Leeds have had lately, that should be pretty accurate. I'm not sure if Leeds are a good fit for him and his way of play. If appointed I do hope that the chairman gives him time, would've been cool to see him play up against Pep and Poch in the PL or Cup

Looks like Lopetegui might be leaving Spain today!

followed up with:

Rubiales, in charge of the RFEF and running the whole show, found out his coach Lopetegui had agreed to coach Real Madrid 15 minutes before the club announcement. He is quite understandably, fuming.

Lopetegui recently signed an extension with Spain so I can understand that Spain is fuming over his decision to leave and manage Real Madrid after the WC. In all hindsight, this decision should've been made after the WC not days before..

What a fiasco for Spain. Surely this could have been handled better by all three parties.

Agree. It was out of order for Lopategui to not inform them he was considering an offer, but this just seems like the FA president cutting his nose off to spite his face. Doesn't benefit them at all and has suddenly turned Spain from one of the top 2/3 favorites for the tournament to suddenly being in disarray

He has, but I don't think the guy had much choice, having been told 5 minutes before Real announced it. I think Real really shafted Lapategui and the Spanish FA by making the announcement the way/when they did.

Looks like Bielsa to Leeds is finally done. Well, it will be watchable for days/weeks/months...
I can see a few loans going in their direction, if Poch wants his youngsters to learn at a loan club Leeds will be top of his list now won't they?
