You just don't trade away future HoF pass rushers in their prime end of.

If our season goes awry early on then expect dissent in the camp because if I was a player seeing this move i'd be thinking this isn't a franchise that's looking progressively regardless of the move to LV.

Sigh....

I was thinking that the relocation was behind this trade. Double first round picks for the next two years would facilitate a new beginnings in every respect. Four potentially top new players to head up the new brand.

Im officially done with the Raiders, seriously fuck them

After years of torment, they fucking get rid of one of the few players that actually worked out for us

The fact that Carr has been given a huge contract, Gruden has been given a huge contract and Mack the only player ever to be selected first all pro for two different positions

I understanding trading away a player like Mack when you know you aren't going to give him $90m guaranteed. May as well get something for him rather than nothing when he walks as a free agent.

But i am not sure i understand not being willing to give the contract to him the first place. I get that d-line/LB has a pretty short life in the NFL but Mack is a player on the same level as Watt or Aaron Donald, you don't let those players walk...you use them as the foundation to build on.

Just looks like an amazingly poor decision on the Raiders part.

No offence mate, Im done with the Raiders there is no our season

Seriously the move is a cash grab, I was looking to give Gruden a chance but he has been a PR mess, they have constantly treated the fans badly during the years the Davis family mishandled the club

Is it fucking bollocks, its fucking Gruden

Dickhead, so fucking arrogant after his $100m contract, he was challenged by a player who was poorly treated after his comments about Mack and they had two options

Gruden take a hit to the ego and give Mack what he has earned or they trade their best player

Its all about ego and gruden has too big of a ego as there was a colleague of his saying that if he pays Mack then he has to pay the next guy refusing to play

But as far as the Raiders are concerned there isn't another talent like Mack and this guy has been the epitome of professional

A great player but I want him gone from the Steelers. Fed up with the drama he brings.

So I just realised Marquette King has been let go

It kills me to not support the Black and Silver

I seen a lot of fans say, its a good move as it gives us more room in cap space for the free agent market(one which is often way too overpriced) and 2 draft picks. Also people are happy with Derek Carr being the franchise, but he was poor last year and way overpaid atm!

Also we didnt get 2 first round draft picks!!! We gave them a second round pick for one those draft picks and I hazardous guess we have essentially traded up 10 places or so.

Then we got a 3rd round and a 6 round in exchange for a 5th round. This wasnt a good deal at all imo.

Also the dressing room is potentially going to be fucked after losing a great professional in Mack and a great personality in King. Wont be surprised if people wont want to come

Yea King left early to the Bronco's of all teams!

I read somewhere that despite the commitment that tying down Carr and Mack would have posed longer term, looking at how the salary cap would incrementally rise each year the overall cap commitment on Mack was around 10.7%ish which for arguably your best player in one of the most crucial positions on the field AND how he is as a person/leader off the field then it just makes this miserable deal even less palatable.

Going back 15 years ago to when we drafted Asomugha, I can only really name Mack as a bona fide success - Cooper potentially yes but has to bounce back and I guess time will tell on Conley. That doesn't fill me with any confidence whatsoever that these two 1st rounders are going to provide us with the tools to be a force once again anytime soon.

Have to say as a Bears fan I am fucking ecstatic about getting Mack.

Saw an article the other day that reckoned the Raiders were hoping he would eventually ask for less money, and then Aaron Donald got his deal and Mack was like 'Bitches please, you give me more or that's me gone'.

Looking forward to Lambeau now. We won't win, but gonna be tasty.

While I'm here I'll mention a good deed the Bears did for me earlier this year.

There is a link in this tweet to a prior discussion between me and the Bears social media team as well which started the whole thing.

A came about because they tweeted that the Bears would be wearing their orange jerseys again this season, for the first time in about 15 years.

King was released apparently because he had a big personality and to increase the salary space to sign Mack, or at least thats how it was spun to the media then

I honestly cant stand Reddit at the moment due to this trade, honestly feels like a lot of people have their head in the sands.

Seriously, people are saying that money shouldn't go to a defensive end as it doesnt effect the game that much and the defence was terrible with him but they forget how the offence was so bad last year that the defence spent way too much out there was hung out to dry and didnt get a break. This is one player that forces quarterbacks to throw early and forces OL to gameplan for one person and still shit themselves.

I find it funny that guards or tackles are one of the most highest paid positions but players have an issue with DE getting paid.

We have 1 winning season in the last 15 or so and raiders fans are happy that we didnt tie him down in the quest to get a Super Bowl but now we have the oldest roster since 2012(the person who calculated roster age didnt do this calculation prior to this lol) and we have lost our young HOF and we are looking to get talent from the off season

The free agency isn't full of young talent either lol.

So the truth is, the raiders imo will be rebuilding for the next 3-4 years

Reggie Mac did an appalling job to let the Bears pay such a ridiculously small price for Mack. The Bears got away with murder in my opinion, when they should have given up far more, just as the Vikings had to pay through the nose when they got Herschel Walker in a trade with the Cowboys in 1989. (That trade enabled the Cowboys to build the foundations of a team that won 3 Super Bowls in 4 seasons.) I can't help thinking McKenzie is only one poor season from being fired.
BTW, the Raiders are known as the Silver and Black, not Black and Silver.

McKenzie is a hundred percent gone, I cant remember who but apparently someone said that McKenzie told Mack at Carr's contract signing, we will take care of you next season.

Gruen thrown McKenzie under the bus already several times.

They won't be shit, but they probably won't make the playoffs either. NFC has most of the good teams.

Kudos to Bell and sideeye to his fellow underpaid teammate Pouncey. The Steelers are well within their rights under the shitty CBA to do what they’re doing, and so is Bell.

The Seahawks are in semi-rebuilding mode. They’ll lose Earl Thomas after this season too. So enjoy him this season while it lasts.

He is well within his rights to do what he's doing but it's a shitty move to let your teammates think that you'll be there, not turn up and then hide behind your agent. Bell was happy enough to get on Twitter previously to tell everyone he'll be ready for Week 1 but since he failed to turn up he has let his agent do the talking. Bell hasn't spoken to Tomlin for over a week. If Bell had told his teammates he had changed his mind, that he wasn't coming until week 10 as he has to protect his health and future I doubt they would have publicly criticised him. Bell is making a smart business decision and you can't fault him for that but he's handled it so badly.

Let's not forget this isn't the first time Bell's acted up. Last season he arrived with about 10 mins left in the practice before the Jags playoff game, turned up at the stadium late for that game and was suspended for the start of the two seasons before that. Bell's an exceptional talent but an absolute wankpuffin.
