Carolina keep looking like they're about to get it together, but they're just not connecting. That 'try the run on the 1st down' every time needs switching up too.

You run there because if everything goes right then you pick up some positive yards (giving you better position to punt) or if you really hit it a 1st down. If it goes bad the odds of a turnover is lower and you still punt. Very low risk call.

If it was that Broncos play...it's because you risk it being picked off too close to your own end zone by trying to throw down field, which is what they would be expecting. So you run the ball, and hope to get a 1st down. If not, you don't turn it over and play safe by punting it away on 4th down.
