Levy knows that the fans are divided and that means he can fet away with pulling the wool over our eyes.Honestly, I think a big portion of online fans on both sides of the argument simply enjoy the argument. There is no real desire or need for a resolution for them. It is an infinite, rather than a finite game.
Think you are right unfortunately. We are just going to tread water for another decade with Levy sticking around.
Hes made mistakes but The fans want every manager backed, even the ones with very specific formations and wing-backs. All I saw on here for 18 months were Contes wingbacks, Conte's wingbacks, on repetition.Daniel does often spend the money, but very badly, supporting managers that he's about to be sack, bringing in 'prospects' that the manager didn't want etc. It's all very fragmented. Then he gets a rush of adrenalin and appoints the next short term saviour, (Mourinho, Conte) while pledging to bring back to our 'DNA' football. It's hypocritical and delusional, and leaves fans like me feeling so frustrated.
Now he might actually have learnt something...is he building a team of capable football people, from MD to technical director through to youth training, and giving them a clarity that it is a long term project? I would be relieved but, sadly, he's a serial offender and will probably interfere in some helpfully awful way and create the usual confusion that leaves us, initially delusional and optimistic and then always ends with us all being so f***ing frustrated all over again.
wasn't denying that, fans get delusional too, but his responsibility is to create a football plan for long term success with a bit of consistencyHes made mistakes but The fans want every manager backed, even the ones with very specific formations and wing-backs. Is that correct? 58% are to Levy? unreal.I'm at a point where I genuinely don't understand how a % of supporters (wasn't it 58% that I saw online recently) are pro Levy, I don't understand how anyone can sit back and say, as a supporter of a football team not a business, that they think he's doing a good job?

I'm sure I saw on twitter some kind of vote across all prem league clubs and us and Man utd I think were 58%, was only one club that was really low, can't remember which though. Is that correct? 58% are to Levy? unreal.
Totally agree. Hope we don’t get our Glazers and Levy’s mixed up on Saturday!I'm not one to dismiss the merits of long term financial stability, however wouldn't it be lovely to have a chairman whose main ambition isn't this but instead to try and build a title winning team?
should be long term profitabiliy to ENIC insteadI'm not one to dismiss the merits of long term financial stability, however wouldn't it be lovely to have a chairman whose main ambition isn't this but instead to try and build a title winning team?

Understood, but he backed a guy that had checked out in the first half of the season. Rightly or wrongly he bought a wingback (Spence), who Conte did not want. Of course fans want every manager backed
why wouldn’t they?
it’s not the fans fault that Levy has been like a magpie chasing around every manager that has won a trophy even if stylistically unsuited to the club and then giving them a fraction of the tools that got those specific managers the success they have had
but once in the post as a fan you want whoever is there to be backed appropriately
His mistake has been to appoint managers that are too defensive but 'serial winners' [that was on repetition for 4 years] and too specific in their requirements and then back those requirements, buy players for the style you want to play, and get managers to suit. Most of the top clubs don't entertain Managers and their requirements unless they have been there for several seasons prob half a decade. I'm no Levy fan but I'm not a fan of backing managers either.Understood, but he backed a guy that had checked out in the first half of the season. The transfer business for Conte was horrendous, but that started with Nuno.
Kulu and Bentacur fell into our lap and was not part of a bigger plan...yes we lucked out.
It all comes back to short sightedness from Levy. Why not buy the wing backs in the Contes first Winter window? Yes we got Kulu and Bentacur, but he goes and buys two young wingbacks, one Conte didn’t want and one that would come back from the loan at the start of this season. Then goes and buys an expensive wingback in the shape of Porro after Conte was increasingly likely not to stay.
Less said about Perisic the better.
There is no way of paint Levy in a good light for on field decisions since the ”no purchase“ transfer window.
Very difficult to back a manger and have a coherent team, when’s its a revolving door within a year to 18 months, with different philosophies.
Well, for a start, don’t settle for having our ambition diluted.
As soon as we become envious of wh for their minimal, negligible achievements , Levy has won.
We at least have to hold firm and aim higher.
But I respect the fact that we all have different ways of expressing our love for, our club and frustration with its current predicament.
What we shouldnt do is turn on each other and accuse people of being hoodwinked and gullible. Everyone knows we should be aiming for the top. Other than the criminality of two or three clubs, there is no reason why we shouldn’t aim to be the very best club in the country.
And it’s not the fans who are to blame. They just express themselves differently. We need to remember that.
