I think we're giving away points because this is his first season.

Pretty much every manager throws away points in their first season.

So you don't count the half a season he spent with us last season?

The problems been there since this season started, so maybe he should have solved the problem by now?

We might. And it'll paper over the crap for a while and someonne will bump that preposterous 'Positivity' thread and the cycle will continue
Who thought a possible 4-0 win would do anything of the sort?

As of now, I’d think we’d be knocking on Southampton‘s door again when and if....

This is the problem though with not having a consistent philosophy. We spent 6 years trying to dominate possession, playing attacking press high football, now we're changing the squad to find the right players for low block, little posession counter attack football. So when josé goes, what do we do? Go back to high press attacking possession football and need to completely turn the squad over again?

Isn't that the remit of most modern football teams?

There is definitely a lot of all our yesterday's when it comes to how entertaining it is.

Pre Premier League the game clearly did exist but rule changes (back pass, offside and general protection from cloggers), and better playing conditions means in general the game is more entertaining. Add in the fact that unless you were at the game you didn't see much at all and even a poor performance can be more exciting when you are there. So that's all those years ruled out.

The 90s - Spurs were terrible.

Hoddle years - Definitely not the period fans are reminiscing of.

Jol - A good period and the beginning of the end of being totally shit. The football was average for the most part but more fondly remembered when compared to the before times.

Ramos - Nope.

Redknapp - Maybe the closest to the percieved ideal so far. For the most part attacking football but as often completely lacking shape at all. A couple of years of what people seem to want.

AVB and Tim - ?

Poch - We'd nearly all take the first part of his reign for ever no doubt. Mostly attacking front football with a young team, what wasn't to like. How about that young team getting older and not being renewed and the football getting progressively less good from the moment the team left WHL to the point where it really isn't much, if any, better than you are seeing now.

So in summary it's been mostly absolulte rubbish except about 4 seasons in the last 30 and most that came before that is newsreel stuff and memories that didn't happen.

Would be nice to have a manager who is smart enough, and has ability (and players) who can adapt. I don’t have any issue with Jose’s style personally, when we are winning, it’s perfectly acceptable to win 1 or 2 nil.

That high press game is such a tricky one to sustain, we’ve seen how City and Liverpool got caught out early on this season, and couldn’t seem to defend at all. Give me someone who can adapt...

Would be nice but let's be honest, managers have a style of play and that's what they do. You wouldn't see Klopp or Poch suddenly change to a low block counter attack style half way through their career. Equally it's unrealistic after an entire career of coaching one very specifc style of play at every club he's been at, that José is suddenly going to produce an attacking football team. Even if he's trying to do it, he likely isn't very good at it as it goes against all his natural beliefs. If you want attacking football you don't hire José any more than you'd hire Pep Guardiola to park the bus.

Our performances under Jose were significantly better last season than Poch. Given the injuries to Kane and Son I would say he did very well last season despite all the problems.

Before the last 6 games we were doing very well this season. Klopp didn't solve Liverpool's problems within a season and I think expecting Jose to get everything right in such a short period of time is an unrealistic expectation.

One positive signing can make a huge difference.

Think it would have to be the europa. Otherwise I can see it all going sour. Especially when we are back in the ground.
Who knows mate let's face it we are desperate to win something and the shit I'm getting off the spammers, I need something to shut them up all because they are a point behind.

Haha they can’t talk. Just be prepared that the shit talk won’t stop until we win CL or the title.

Yes I know mate they have nothing just because it's a better season for them.
I suppose it will make a nice stocking filler the DVD when we got to a point behind spurs.
