I find it hard to believe that you had given up on 4th. I really don't understand why doom and gloom descends on our fans so quickly.

However, I did say a week ago that we would be 3 points behind with a game in hand right now; and having happened, I should know, that that means the Spurs fans optimism barometer moves dramatically once more...

Well I was more hoping. Now I actually believe. I'd never given up, just thought it didn't look likely.

I am sorry, but Spurs do not convince me that we will get 4th .... we were lucky against Stoke and I really do think we will blow it against the Le'Arse ..... Away to Chaski,Scousers and Shitty ..... sorry not convinced .

Stoke were friiggin lucky not us! They had 2 attacks in the first hour and scored 2 goals!! We played them off the park in the first half, we were terribly unlucky not to go in at half time 3 or 4 or 5 nil up

I'd go along with that.

I think we need to step up a level though if we want to get 4th. I think we can, but we need to hit our best form of the whole season to do it.

We can do it for sure. We just have to finally get a bit more lucky on the injury front.

Woodgate and King are both out for the season, so we really need Dawson, Kaboul and Gallas to stay fit for the remainder of time. We need one of our strikers to finally get some form together, and that's looking increasingly like Pav, and we need our wingers flying. Bale and Lennon are the difference between beating ArseAnal, Chelski, the bindippers and Claudio Ranieri's, oops I mean Mancini's Citeh.

I thought I read somewhere that King did not need surgery now? Would be good to have him available for some of the big games

Provided we beat the goons, our home games are a pile of piss. And so long as we can get a draw at City and maybe Chelsea too, win the home games, we will get 4th.

City away's record is woeful atm, so their easier away fixtures carry no importance as a result...

The length of Tevez's injury will have a massive impact. I pray he's out for the season. Liverpool game definetly changed me from thinking 4th was gone to it being very much on the cards IF we beat the goons.

So what you're saying is that if we go unbeaten for the rest of the season we'll get fourth, as long as Tevez doesn't play again that is!
Good on you Yid121 I have to admire your faith in the face of your own arguments.:)

I have to say that I really can't see us getting fourth, or perhaps I ought to say couldn't.
Until Saturday's game where Hudd came back I really couldn't see where the goals were coming from as was born out by our results however, we really did see a different dimension to our game on top of that Gareth Bale looked sharper again and I've found my confidence rising, something had to change and maybe it has.

Glad you're showing your support.

Bit harsh?

Listen, people have their own opinions about a top 4 finish and just because they think top 4 is too much doesn't mean their not showing support.

I still believe we will fall short for reasons ive already mentioned. Yes, ive said i'll eat shit if we finish 4th.

Do I feel a little worried after monday night result? A little.

My heart will always back spurs. My head says it's too much. My head is rarely wrong.

But i'd be ecstatic to be proved wrong.

Be the best tasting shit ever.

4th is still City's to lose as opposed to ours to gain as we have some exceptionally hard matches ahead of us, I think it will literally boil down to the City away game again, win that and we will do it

This is why 'predictor's' are nonesense:

http://www.fanhouse.co.uk/2011/04/13/premier-league-race-for-fourth-liverpool-kenny-dalglish/

Folk envisage the results in line with what they want/expect/believe.

The best bit in this buffoon's buffonery is that, in his predictions for our results, he has us down for a 2:1 defeat at Anfield...and then in his predictions for Liverpool's results he has them beating us 2:0:rofl:

No he doesn't.

I think his predictions about our results are the most accurate. We have a nightmare run in, by far the toughest.

When you consider that we actually turn up for the big games, is our run in the toughest? I'm not so sure actually.

Obviously, he's changed it since I read it...probably because someone pointed his error out to him:roll:

No, we don't have a 'nightmare' run-in, and it isn't 'by far the toughest'.
Citeh have 3 away north-west derbies.
Liverpool have to go away to ArseScum, Fulham and Villa and he gives them 7 points form 9 from those games, while predicting we will draw at home with WBA.
It's nonesense.

Liverpool arn't picking up 7 points from those away games, not a chance.

Yes it is. Regardless of whether people believe we are better against better sides, each team we play cannot afford to lose the games we have against them.

I think it is a fallacy that we usually play better against the better teams. What usually happens is the lesser teams play better against us, thus making the matches a hell of am lot tougher.

At the end of the day, we go to Liverpool, Chelsea and City. We get draws at best at Chelsea and Liverpool historically, and City will be so pumped it is unreal this year.

One win against City and they think it's all laid out in front of them. They forget it wasn't that long ago they were losing to the likes of West Brom and the Spammers.

I can see us picking up points in all those games, and I think we'll beat City. They'll set up to keep it tight, knowing a draw will be enough for them, but thats dangerous and we have the advantage from last year and from that fact that we'll have a clear objective....and thats to win.

Tevez hasn't been right for ages, he's either not been fit or is heart isn't in it because he knows he's leaving, either way their best player is off the boil and is now nursing a hammy.

The reality is we know how good we can be when we focus. Last season I believed we'd fall short as we had a hard run in and I didn't trust our strikers to be able to trouble Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal.

I was wrong, we won the games and Bale shone.

We have the talent and I believe our CL campaign has possibly shifted our attention a little this season.

We'll bow out tonight and then be completely focused for our remaining games. We are good enough to beat all the teams we've got left. Chelsea are the only ones I'd have as firm favourites to beat us.
