Today was the first game in the Premier League that we had our own title aspirations hanging on it. We haven't been in this situation deep into the season before and I think we've done ourselves proud. It's understandable that it took a while for us to play today. But we cam alive in the final 30 mins.

It's pretty much over now but we should continue to push the top 2 as much as possible. Keep ourselves in relative distance so the worst we do is finish in the top 4. I think our main goal is 3rd now.

Utd 1-0 up too now.

I dont think it was going to happen anyway but looks too much of a gap now. Still think that 2nd is a real possibility.

Think we just won't have enough to finish 1st but delighted with how we have done this season so far. We just need to concentrate on finishing as high as possible and pick out our targets early for the summer instead of this last minute saga we always go through.

everyone has written us off for the league now, just as they wrote us off to qualify for the CL after 2 league games.

last time I looked at the table there were 16 games and 48 points still to play for, and that was only 5 mins ago

This.

That was a title-winning moment imo. In one minute, they've gone from being a cm away from being 2 points ahead of us and 3 ahead of Man utd (with Man utd yet to play) to being 8 points ahead of us and 6 ahead of Man utd (with them yet to play).

Sickening.

I've said before but the title is not going to be won beating the teams around us... It's gonna be about get maximum points away at places like bolton... It's a 3 point swing in there favour but we can still win it.

Question for you all.

If we don't win the league, who would you rather out of City and Utd?

Personally Utd, Citys arrogance is pissing me off lately.

Chelsea fans could say the same thing

still a lot of football and points for them to play for too, they could point to the time Man U over turned a 15 point gap Newcastle held over them or the time bookies started paying out on Man U to win but second half of the season Arsenal turned it around and took the title and say "we are still in this....its only 13 points"

technically yes we could still win it, as could Chelsea technically.

Realistically though the title is over but it was never that realistic anyway

Had Defoe's chance gone in at the end today and we won 3-0 and closed the gap to 2 points there would have been a much more realistic chance but to think we are going to win enough games to offset all of Cities wins and make up 8/6 points on them and Man U by the end of the season is pretty delusional I think.

Its an outside chance as much as Chelsea have an outside chance pretty much (in as far as both Chelsea and Spurs fans who think their teams will win the league this year are dreaming)

3rd is the target, and that is a VERY realistic target.

Wigan game is all that matters right now, the wolves game was poor points to drop and we do need to ensure we snap out of this mini slump because Chelsea are breathing down our next and we can't keep relying on them being poor.

I think we can get our first win at Stamford bridge and maybe even against Man U although personally I suspect we will draw. Arsenal is another massive game, we have a very tricky run coming up and its not that unrealistic that after it we could be far less comfortable than we are currently in the race for fourth let alone first.

Wigan is MASSIVE, win that and maintain the 5 point gap to Chelsea, even hope for them and Arsenal to slip up further because we all know we want and need CL football back at the Lane next year.

City

Can't stand United fans sense of entitlement, at least the City fans would appreciate it more.

Utd without a shadow of a doubt. City are utter scum, don't want them winning a single trophy.

And City fans don't appreciate anything, they're already outrageously arrogant.

i'd be happy with 3rd. but then we need to splash out in the summer for 2 CF's and a CB as I doubt ade will stay and we need cover or a replacement for king/gallas. Would also like to see a cheeky bid for tim krull too

United. Hate them both but it'd be funny to see City fail again.

Agreed but the homicidal kneejerk person in me wants Arsenal to get battered.

a score draw with a mass brawl resulting in several red cards...

So hang on a minute, if the score stays the same, Man U are only 3 points ahead of us, are they no longer in the title race either? Do we just give it City? Fact of the matter is we're still in the title race... Whatever happens in Arsenal game.

As long as it's still in single figures I'll believe. We need to go on a run like we did after we last lost to City.

Not gonna happen, haven't got the mental strengh for it yet, nor the depth needed in certain areas. CL will do me.

No because Man Utd have a deeper squad, far more experienced players who have been there and done it all before and a manager who has been there and done it all and probably wrote the book on title run ins.

I don't want to piss on your parade or any other Spurs fans who want to believe we will win the league this year, good luck with that, but personally I think you are deluding yourself

The title race in my opinion is between the two Manchester clubs and we still need to watch our backs for Chelsea and Arsenal.

Let's see where we stand after we have played Chelsea at the Bridge, I think far too many fans are dreaming of titles and losing site of the real race we are involved in. Fourth is by no means won yet
