I don't think we'll win the league either, but if you concede that it's a possibility then Arsenal losing is a bad result for us whichever way you spin it.

Winner: ......... Top 4:
Arsenal + City -> Leicester 53, Arsenal 51, Man C 50, Spurs 48.
Arsenal + Draw -> Leicester 53, Arsenal 51, Spurs 49, Man C 48
Arsenal + Spurs -> Leicester 53, Spurs 51, Arsenal 51, City 47
Leicester + City -> Leicester 56, Man C 50, Spurs 48, Arsenal 48
Leicester + Draw -> Leicester 56, Spurs 49, City 48, Arsenal 48
Leicester + Spurs -> Leicester 56, Spurs 51, Arsenal 48, City 47
Draw + City -> Leicester 54, City 50, Arsenal 49, Spurs 48
Draw + Draw -> Leicester 54, Spurs 49, Arsenal 49, City 48
Draw + Spurs -> Leicester 54, Spurs 51, Arsenal 49, City 47

Those who think we could win the league regardless would probably pick Arsenal + Spurs victory, to tighten the race and battle it out. (We've got a full point in goal difference, right?).
Those who don't think we could win the league regardless would probably pick Leicester + Spurs victory to build a gap to Arsenal & City (and possibly battle it out later only with Leicester).
Those who simply enjoy us winning and Arsenal loosing would probably pick Leicester + Spurs victory.

Well the good news is that whatever the outcome there will be an advantage to us somewhere. Although obviously the others will say the same about our game.

Just wish our match was first so we could do the business and sit back and watch the other two slug it out.

Perfect result for us
A draining physical frustrating slog and 0-0
Few bookings maybe a red each for sanchez and vardy for fighting.

I'm pushing it a bit aren't I :oops:
Not at all...throw in abit of crowd trouble and you have a full house

Provided we beat Man City, only good things can happen whichever way the Arsenal Leicester game works out. On balance though a draw is probably best for us in that game - it means at worst we only lose a single point on Arsenal and Leicester and at best we gain two points on both of them.

....and of course we have a much better goal difference than all our rivals which could have an earth-shattering cataclysmic affect come the end of the season sending shock waves reverberating around the whole of world football.

Bit harsh.

I think those who are preferring a Leicester win are saying that ultimately it's more likely that Arsenal will be our biggest challengers than Leicester. Whilst that looks an odd think to say with Arsenal 5 points behind Leicester, I don't think it's stupid to look at Leicester's inexperience and lack of depth, and look at the huge amount of quality in Arsenal's squad, and see Arsenal as the bigger threat.

Obviously Leicester are going to need to drop points at some point, and I think a draw is the best result for Spurs this weekend, but I wouldn't necessarily be tearing my hair out if Leicester went there and won.

Well said

Not sure if it'd been pointed out, but in both United's games against us and City you have them down as getting 0 points, but us and City down as getting 1 point.
Thanks, i'll change it. Win for us and a draw for City (y)
Edit - this would see us win the league on goal difference

I won't stop believing if Leicester win, but it is stupid to want Leicester to win. It's the only option that avoids either team winning.

I admit, I think we will finish top 4, I don't think we will win the league. It's fine saying that, it's just my opinion. If we, along the way, have to endure a trashing of Arsenal by Leicester, I wouldn't mind. And, if we assume we don't win the league (call me names however much you want), Arsenal loosing would be a great results for us.
Why when we're 5 points off the top would you want to assume we can't do it?!

I'd prefer a Leicester win. It gives us an advantage in the race for a top 4 finish, and I believe teams will now look at Leicester as the team to beat or more importantly not lose to.
I, like everyone else have been waiting for the collapse of Leicester to happen. I've not given up hope yet.
I want to see how well they cope when teams put 10 men behind the ball in the defensive 3rd. Let's see if they can break teams down. If they can, then they deserve to win the league. If not then there will be teams chasing them

Unless you believe Arsenal may not finish top four then it gives us no advantage at all in this regard. All it does is make it harder for us to win the league.

It gives us an advantage because a team below us drops points allowing us the chance to increase the gap between us and them.
And as I currently have Arsenal as favourites to win the league, if they were to lose, the psychological effect of the loss would also be advantageous. Of course this is simply my opinion.

I noticed we were also 5 points off the top at this time back in 2012. The infamous mind the gap saga

Good news is though we still finished 4th despite the terrible form in the run in
