Who here is as nervous for the Newcastle Leicester game tonight as if it were a spurs game? IF Leicester score it will feel like a punch to the gut. What a strange feeling being in a title race.

Me tooo mate, i even said previously that if i lived closer id go there myself, buy myself a ticket and scream like made to get behind them!! I just want leicester to give us an open door just one more time and really feel the heat rather than keep the gap at 5+ points for the remainder of the season.
Heres to hoping leicester suffer from the curse of the new manager! Benetez might be a noob but the geordies should be filling that stadium and creating a couldren for the opposition!

Even stranger Leicester being in the way of it too!

The way I see it we need to be at worst within 6 of Leicester going into the final three games.

Dropped points tomorrow would be huge and gives us more of a free hit at our tougher games. Let's hope.
I'd like to be further ahead than that.

It'll be tough for Leicester! Just the kind of game and night the Geordies love up there! Create a great atmosphere and get behind the team if it gives the effort! Especially, with the new manager kick on! Even Chelsea in its prime came unstuck there a few seasons back - Cisse wondergoal if I remember right, and they could have had a few more. Wouldn't be surprised to see any result to be honest!

I see the all about goal difference today brigade are out in force. Villa have players who could well turn up and play out of their skins. It's far from a foregone conclusion, especially given our form and confidence will have dipped after the palace, West Ham and Dortmund defeats, in which we failed to score a single goal. If Kane don't somebody else needs to step up.

I would take the luckiest one nil win today and be well grateful for it.

Isn't the goal difference pretty much sown up for us this year anyway? Other than possibly Man City, it is unlikely we could end up with a worse goal difference than the others with the results required to finish equal on points.

Aren't Leicester at home?

It will be way too early for Rafa to have made any direct impact on the squad

McClaren going however may have removed a negative effect

Bah, Leicester are going to suffer a defeat before the season is over. Why not tonight?
Why not indeed

Newcastle have better players than their league position suggests and I do think things had gone tits up under McClaren so there is indeed a chance that his absence may inspire an improved performace from those players

I'm hoping for at least a dogged hard earned Newcastle draw tonight

They beat us at home after all - they could smash and grab leicester in similar fashion potentially

ranieri has been talking some rubbish in the press all week. It is time for them to crumble a little tonight.

If you'd said in August that we'd be sat here in March, hoping for Newcastle to beat Leicester to aid our league position you'd have probably assumed that things had gone horribly wrong and we were in the middle of a relegation battle! Funny old game!

Second bottom against top Benitez as manager, I really can't see Newcastle going gung ho for an out and out win and that will pose Leicester a challenge, they'll have to come out and attack.

Yeah, hopefully Rafa will have seen teams have more success against Leicester staying in narrow banks of 4 or 5 and hitting them on the counter. (and hopefully man marking unlike WBA)
If Newcastle could score first, could be an interesting game, if not it could be a life shortner like the WBA game...
