If that was underarm he needs to lay off the steroids.

You can clearly( after careful viewing) see that it was an over arm throw, nowhere near the gang way.

I'd even go as far as to say it's a left handed throw. Not easy to see unless you mark the area on that little vid with your mouse and watch a few times.

What's an absolute joke is that pathetic attempt in blaming everyone else accept the person who threw it. Police brutality? LOL! Give me a break.

The police have their own cameras at games and they would have had them pointing at the away fans as they do at all stadiums. This so called "The stewards let him go" (Stewards are nothing more than fans in day-glo jackets with a crib sheet) and then the police arrested him is probably because they reviewed their own video footage, clearly identified the numpty and arrested him.

That was the conclusion I came to. The arm raised looks like a "lefty" (bloody commie flare chuckers).

Whether its overarm or underarm, the real question is how come huge f****** flares can be brought into football stadiums when I'm not even allowed to bring a bottle of water into WHL?

Because if they let you bring water (and other beverages) into WHL, they would lose out on the excessive mark-up, whereas the odd flare, smoke bomb or whatever would not dent the profits (just the odd linesman's head)

Just watched the incident again frame-by-frame in HD and it is an overarm throw which makes sense as an underarm throw is just gonna hit the back of the person in the row in front.

I don't for one minute believe he is aiming at the linesman and it was just a fluke it hit him. All he wanted to do was get it on the pitch.

If you watch it again there is a steward just behind the linesman who steps out of the way and was looking at the away fans where the smoke was coming from before it was thrown. Also, there are four stewards in the stands maybe 5 or 6 rows behind the thrower and they are all watching.

If a smoke bomb/flare landed at my feet I know that any common sense that I may have would have been gone in an instant. I am sure that I would panic and try to either get as far away from it as possible or get it as far away from me as possible. I can therefore understand (to some degree) if the fan threw it away in the direction of the pitch if he did it without really thinking about the consequences.

Nah I disagree. If it was me i'd have taken the time to log onto SC & put a poll up to get some feedback & gauge what the best move would be

Well, quite.

Apart from that though, they do have a bee in their bonnet at WHL about allowing things into the ground that you can throw. Hence the fact that even drinks you buy in the ground have the bottle tops confiscated. Yet all manner of things end up getting in. The searching also seems to be completely arbitrary. One week everyone gets searched even for a low key game and then the next no one does, even if its a london derby.

Except that they aren't 'allowed' in... they are on the prohibited items list of every sports stadium in the UK.
