i thought wages were paid post tax. aka 50k wage would be c.70k in reality.

Wages are always gross figures unless specifically mentioned as "Net" - that only tends to happen when they are talking about players for Rubin Kazan etc. Sometimes in Italy/Spain players agree net wage figures, but I would imagine that clubs would be massively less inclined to do that now that a lot of the "special" tax rates and loopholes are being removed with the difficult economic conditions.

With Sahin and Allen, Liverpool have identified their problems and fixed them, exactly like we have done with a striker........oh wait.

Partly agree, they have strengthened in CM - but what do they have elsewhere? Cover for Suarez? They seemingly don't want Carroll. Options out wide? Seemed to me that at Swansea Rodgers utilised wingers to great effect, who are the options at Liverpool? Their back line - Agger may be on his way.

I think they have more problems than you give them credit for but i think given time, Rodgers will get it right for the bindippers.

Suggests to me that Jose is helping out both his former #2 and #3, i.e. away from Arsenal for AVB and towards Liverpool for Rodgers (assuming we aren't interested ourselves).

Knowing that RM want Modric, it suggests to me that Tottenham don't want Sahin, otherwise, RM and JM would be pushing for him to be part of the Modric deal, which they are not. I know it has been stated that Sahin doesn't want to go to Tottenham, but realistically that would only be because of a lack of CL football, which Liverpool can't provide either. So, if he goes to Arsenal, we may have wanted him, but if he goes to Liverpool, it can only be that we didn't want him.

So desperate for everything that's 'on th verge' to come off. If we had a window of Ade/Llorente, Leandro, Lloris, Moutinho, Sigurdsson and Vertoghen, I think I would burst. And then worry about our bank balance...

Okay, gotcha. I don't really think that negates what he said in the past. IMO he's agreeing with the commenter's sentiments about getting players who want to play for the club.
