I like this Pjanjc news. It's good to see that we have good alternatives if our main targets (Moutinho) prove too expensive.

Pjanic would be a good replacement for modric surprised it took us so long to look at him as an option

Maybe Pjanic and M'Villa. 2 for the price of 1 Moutinho? Would make sense, if we are shifting Modric, Hudd, Jenas, Bentley we need bodies as well as quality. Would gives us 2 DM (Sandro & Parker), 2 link Midfielders (M'Villa & Pjanic) and 2 central AM's (VDV & Sigurdsson) - nice and balanced with options.

It's a bit football manager looking at it like that but it would substantially improve the strength of our midfield, despite the unfortunate loss of Modric.

That takes a big sh*t on what ClubCall came up with earlier today:

His current club, Internacional, have said they are expecting a deluge of offers for Damiao once the Olympic football tournament has reached its conclusion.
However, they are in no hurry to sell as the Brazilan forward still has four years left on his current contract and Luigi has told Tottenham they will only sell their star man if the €60m buyout clause is met.
"I think it's very hard for the transfer to happen unless Tottenham pay the €60 million (£47m) buyout fee that is included in his contract," Luigi told O Jogo.
"Leandro Damiao has four more years on his contract. He is a very well paid player and has nothing to complain about. And we don't need to sell. We are a rich club with an enviable structure."

I prefer the Llorente news tbh...

Agree with most of that, but I think M'Villa may be viewed more as a long term replacement for Parker. If we are really looking to Loan out Hudd then Pjanic would be competing with Livermore for the link midfielder position. Hope Pjanic is up to the task of replacing Modric otherwise that position looks a little lightweight....

Dos Santos, Bentley, Jenas.
Not much deadwood left now. Will be nice not to hear that explanation as to why we didn´t buy any players this window.
I personally would love to keep GDS, i watched him very closely at the Olympics and i was quite impressed, he could be important for us this year as cover for Bale and Lennon. As for Bentley and Jenas, they can go for all i care!

Pjanic is more of a CM in a 4-3-3 than one of the two holding midfielders in a 4-2-3-1. Still I think that would be an excellent signing, kid was really good on every occasion I've watched him, be it for Roma or Bosnia or Lyon.

I'm interested as to the fee though. he just moved to Roma last season and it's not like he's been left out this season by Zeman. So the point is I doubt he'll be coming cheap.
