You really have something against Walker.

He's a great player and easily one of the best fullbacks in the competition.

He is one of the best for sure. But how does stating that Smith is better offensively mean I have something against Walker. Smith is good offensively as partially evidenced by the fact that he marginally bettered Walker's productivity (assists/goals) this season despite playing for an infinitesimally worse team talent wise.

He is one of our most important players imo, the right wing unlike the left wing, is a bit of a hot potato position no one wants to be there. When ever Eriksen, Son and etc. play there they are always looking to go inside whereas when they are on the left they are more willing to hug the touchline and keep the width

Due to this reason Walker's athleticism has been very important to us as he keeps the width for the attacking players to space in between the lines and stop the other team from going narrow to stop us from hurting them, he does this whilst getting back in time for the defence to keep its shape.

When trippier plays we dont have the same width as he doesnt get up and down as much, however when we play against teams that sit deep, Trippier's crossing comes in to play and he is better than walker in this aspect.

Walker has also minimised the impact of the sissoko signing as well, or the lack of impact from him.

I would say full backs are vital for the way we play, whether we play 3 or 4 back system, and as such any decent full back in our system will be important, but Trippier doesn't lack for energy and the vast majority of teams we play sit deep against us, so even by your reckoning I don't see how that makes Walker more vital. In the last couple of months Trippier has played against bus parkers and we've been devastating but he's also played against Arsenal, Chelsea and ManU and we've outplayed all three and won two of them well. The Chelsea game was a mixture of bad luck and not playing a left FB at all and playing Son there instead that cost us, not Trippier.

Really? And you know this how? You surely cannot be basing it on the very limited minutes he played for us so far
It's hardly a controversial opinion is it? Situation very reminiscent of Fazio, Stambouli and Njie. Poch isn't afraid to be ruthless with a player he doesn't fancy.

Thought KWP was superb today playing on his weaker side .If walker goes will be a tough decision if we buy a replacement and block KWP progress .would be risky to have him as back up but personally I'd take the risk .

I think I agree with you. He's clearly a class act and I'd like to see him play on the right for Spurs (and England). Really tricky decision for the manager but he shows so much quality I'd hope this would make up for a lack of experience at the top level. He's defo got to get some sort of role in the first team squad because he shows all the signs of being potentially better than any of our existing right backs.

Another absolutely shocking decision by a ref. Simply astonishing. Complaint should go in because it is dodgy as f*ck. Yes he trod on his feet but at speed and avoiding two players.

Yeah KWP reminds me of rose much more than walker .He just looks so natural and easy on the ball .Did a couple of things today that literally took my breath away .one bit of defending in the box had about 4 players round him and was so cool .just side stepped and Cooly passed it to midfield .

That had me applauding from my armchair. Great composure.

Thought KWP was impressive today and, if we didn't have Harry Winks, I wouldn't mind getting the captain Cook. Thought he was MOTM.

I think that's a little bit misleading.

I'd prefer to see a chart of 23 and under as I think it represents a better use of a youth policy than simply "teenager".

Standard decision from an overseas ref who doesn't have a proper feel for the game and is trying to ref by numbers. The Mexican guy is done by the step over and just sticks his foot out instinctively.

Just finished watching todays U20 game. What a fucking bazaar sending off, I've never seen anything like that, utterly ludicrous. It wasn't like he over ran the ball and stretched or something, the Mexican guy just put his leg where Onomah was stepping with the ball under his control and Onomah couldn't put it anywhere else. I don't understand why the video ref wasn't consulted ?

Funny game really. England keep ploughing on despite playing some very disjointed football at times. Their success seems to be based more on defensive solidity than a good or "clear" footballing ethos. They have some good players but they don't really convincingly look to play out from the back or build using game play. Several times we saw Woodman just hoof the ball when there was a man he could have played out to. Cook tears around like he's got a firework up his arse, he does some good things but nearly everything he does is rushed and lacks composure. Then you have Solanke who is the other end of the spectrum, seems to think he has more time than he has and as a consequence repeatedly fritters the ball away trying something elaborate. I still don't really know what he is. Lookman is lively but a bit head down. Never really been blown away by Armstrong, he's a busy little fucker who'll have a career but Defoe career at best IMO, not a Kane type one, and that really doesn't do it for me.

Onomah was OK, often a composed oasis in a desert of huff and puff but I'd like to see him a bit more involved, but that's a couple of times now I've thought that playing in this system with Cooke makes it harder, Cooke just seems hell bent on being everywhere. Also there are times when Onomah intelligently takes up a good position to facilitate build up but instead the ball gets rushed elsewhere.

KWP might not have got into attacking positions too much but he continues to show what a technically good footballer he is, and defensively he was really good today, which is nice to see because some keep insisting "he's not ready" but everything I'm seeing screams to me he's more than ready to get some real game time. He got some vital interventions in today in his own box, was tenacious and presses really well.

He looks very comfortable on the left, second time I've seen him play there and wouldn't mind seeing him in the wingback position in pre season to see how he gets on.
