It's a rebuild job so McKenna likely gets to help build an academy with his vision in mind.

As for Mourinho, I can't see McKenna minding too much as Mourinho likely won't last long enough to influence the players McKenna brings through in several year's time.
Mckenna isn't going to be heard of the academy (Nicky Butt is), he is just going to be the U23 Head coach. He will be their Ugo Ehiogu, not their John McDermott.

Edit: He is their U18 not U23 coach, so he is doing the same role he did for us. Strange move IMO.

Chances are he's still getting a big voice. Just like when we rebuilt our academy, it wasn't just McDermott making all the decisions, but a handful of people.

Chelsea have 38 players on loan already on the 1-9-16 surly that's not ethically right

Man Utd aren't really rebuilding their academy though. McKenna is replacing McGuiness who left in Feb, and Butt replaced McClair, who left the Feb before. I doubt McKenna will have any input outside the U18s.

what would everyone's ideal uefa youth league team be?

we're allowed three '97 born players but the rest have to be '98 or later. i'd like to see something like:

gk: whiteman

rb: walker-peters*
cb: tanganga
cb: carter-vickers*
lb: brown/tsaroulla

dm: marsh
cm: oakley-boothe
cm: onomah*

amr: edwards
aml: shashoua
st: sterling

can't see ccv or onomah being involved but i think josh especially could really do with the games as he's unlikely to feature much(or at all) for the first team now given the new signings.

Will Ehiogu be in charge as its U19 isn't it?

Man United spent 173 mil or something stuipid this transfer window and I bet Ibra's wages are not cheap so I doubt academy is really top on there agenda these days.

From what I've heard it's an overhaul/rebuild. Just what I've heard though. Maybe McKenna was just swayed by the $$$, but if that was the case I'd figured someone like Chelsea or City would have already been able to poach him.

What do you mean in terms of an overhaul. As S9 said, I can't imagine how an u18s coach is going to do an overhaul when they've got Butt in charge doing McDermott's role. Then they have Warren Joyce managing the u23s, surely it'd be Butt's job to instruct them. He apparently supports United so that could be an influence but I imagine the money would make a big difference too. Chelsea and City wouldn't need him, as their academies are in excellent shape as it is, especially their u18s

What you've said, though I doubt Onomah and CCV will play as he apparently likes them but like you say, will likely just be another wasted year for Onomah, which will be frustrating.

Are we allowed to play different 97s over the course of the tournament or the same ones, I see Harrison, Walkes, Owens and KWP (as we don't have many RBs) being the regular features.

I'd take out Onomah put Edwards 10, and play Harrison up front with Sterling off a wing, or Bennetts. I imaigne the team will be

Whiteman, Muscatt, Brown, Owens, Walkes, Tanganga, Shashoua, Stylianides, Harrison, Edwards, Sterling.

Depedns on how seriously we want to take it.

On another note I will be away for 2 weeks, and missing Pool, Chelsea, Soton u23s and the CL match. They are all likely to be televised or shown somewhere. If they are showing does anyone know of any sites they can be watched back on. Or if anyone has any recording devices, on their comps and end up recording. Let me know

When we overhauled our academy was it just McDermott making all the decisions or was Inglethorpe/Ramsay/Sherwood/etc. involved as well? That's my point, there's a lot of voices involved and I bet McKenna's will be one of them.

They're completely changing the structure of their academy. Hence all the hirings and firings.

Our u14s won the Plus Lohman Cup over the 13th and 14th August, one we've featured in before, beating Anderlecht 1-0 in the final. We'd also beaten Koln 4-2 on penalties after drawing 1-1, drew 0-0 with Brugge, beat Roda JC 6-0, and wzlv selectie 7-0.

Have we got anyone playing in the u20 game v Brazil tomorrow?

Found this great new website, seems to have lots of great information and very easy to use.

www.google.com

Just type this into the address bar on your browser and you are on Google.

After just a few seconds I found the U20 squad for the Brazil game (as opposed to the 5 hours it took you to get the answer on here)

http://www.thefa.com/news/england/development/2016/aug/u20s-squad-announced-for-brazil-250816

Seems to be an even better way of finding info than Spurs Community so maybe bookmark it and give it a try some day.

Yes. We have 10 outfield players and 1 goalkeeper. By we I assume you meant England? If not you could try waiting for the team to be announced and then tune into BT Sport or try that Google trick I have tried to teach you.

Or you can give me your fax number and I will send you over the teamsheets as soon as I have them.
