i don't know exactly but basically along the lines of edwards' attitude isn't right and that onomah's only content with doing just "well". as i said though, i don't have the book so just going by what someone else has said, maybe someone on here will be able to clarify at some point.

Oh yes..here we go, Poch on Edwards..

October 2016

"Sometimes I wonder whether it was wise to liken him (Edwards) to Messi. He's only 17. At that age, Messi was making his debut for a Barcelona side featuring Ronaldinho. They're from different families, backgrounds and cultures. One of them thinks like an Argentinian and the other like an Englishman. Marcus is still in the process of adapting to the rigours or being a professional, which require you to act and think differently, be disciplined and make sacrifices. He has authority and behavioural problems, and we have to look at the bigger picture to find out the root cause. There was a time when it would have been seen as impossible for him to play professionally, let alone make it in the Premier League. Our challenge is to get him to accept the pathway we've laid out for him, and it's our responsibility to make sure he behaves himself when he trains with the first team (with all the rules and obligations this involves). He has no shortage of talent, but there are gaps to be filled: he has to learn to score ugly, run more and be committed.

The reason why I said that he was "our Messi" is because Leo is the target. Marcus needs to have the conviction that he can become a top professional and believe in the journey separating him from that destination.

It's a shame that injury has now halted that process."

The main error was Foyth positioning to play everyone on side but I’m just allouding to everyone can make a mistake that ends up a goal.

Foyth May be good on the ball and may become a very good Cb but to say CCV will just end up a championship player is mad.

Foyth is just the new toy so obviously better than anything from our academy.
I don’t think it’s mad to say Ccv will end up a championship player. That’s my opinion,he will have a decent career at bottom half PL or championship. If I’m proved wrong then fantastic. But just calling it as I see it.

Makes sense why we're being extra careful not to thrust Marcus into 1st team games. Focus on building his strength, core and over all resiliency. I think the only way he would have signed that contract extension is if Poch and him came to understanding about this and Marcus is open to following the plan that Poch has for him.

You strike me as very positive
Why because I dare to question one players technique and another players attitude. I think if you look at previous page, I highly praised Foyth.Be pretty boring if we all agreed on here. Pretty sure that’s the point of a forum.

Can't imagine Edwards' family will be thrilled with this though, can you?
Pretty surprised club let that go to print.Because if it doesn’t work out for him with us,it’s most likely going to be because of his behaviour. Now everybody knows that,Surely can’t help with a possible price tag.

*disclaimer that although we are not related i do fear i unconsciously think of myself essentially as his dad*

edwards, from what i have seen (which is a fair bit this year, not as much as a lot of you guys tho) does not deserve to be in the first team squad due to performances. but, to me, id compare him to vertoghen in the sherwood era. very good, talented player, not performing because hes not happy with where he is at. edwards shows it in bursts, but there are so many disinterested touches, sloppy plays, that he could do in his sleep. you cant tell a boy from age 12 hes the next messi, have him on the verge of the first team, get a couple injuries and then having him playing away against derby u23 after a game at wembley, a game in OT tomorrow and madrid coming in midweek. just on a human level, and taking into consideration that he has had to see guys like TOB and georgiou seemingly leapfrog him, isnt that a really tough thing to deal with mentally? how is he supposed to be self-motivated for these games? another guy, jadon sancho, who edwards will most definitely know and compare himself against, was bought and given number 7 at dortmund, and then recalled from a world cup to be given his debut. he's watching these guys live his dream that he thinks hes ready for.

i am convinced he just needs a test, something to stimulate him. if thats not with the first team, give him a loan. the bad attitude rumour is ultimately irrelevant. if he has a bad attitude, he will want out cause hes not playing first team football like sancho. you arent going to have him run off his bad attitude against charlton u19s. end of the day, we want him to be his best for spurs. so im not saying just bend over, but for sure spread the legs just a littlle. if he has a good attitude, and i think no leaks about him being unhappy is a good sign of that, you still have to test him, and he can be pochettinos son but even the highest character footballers want to go somewhere where they are loved and appreciated and have a chance to be their best.

(btw, even more so than bus-conducter and itk, this was my primary reason for coming to this site for a long time. i bet there are more like me who although they dont comment or give ratings, are hugely appreciative of the work and time you guys especially put into youth football and keep everyone else in touch ((isnt it shitty that derby show youth games and we dont??)) so thank you all for that)

authority and behaviour problems... oh dear, thats not good.

I did suspect the running and commitment thing though. slowly started losing faith in him making it here. he will get nowhere without sorting these issues
