Tbh I’d rather have Sterling on the bench as a impact striker than Llorente.

just watched the u18 highlights on the arsenal site(think you have to sign up to see them) and malachi walcott(u16 cb) really struggled, was at fault for three of the four goals in the first half and statham alongside him wasn't particularly convincing either, poch jr also gave a soft pass away which led to the 5th. obviously arsenal were just far better than us all over but at least four of the goals came directly from individual errors.

I believe thats was the score, 6-0?

we were talking about the u16s, it was the u18s that lost 6-0.

That u18s team is not the best team they could put out by a long shot,6 players that do not start every week in that starting line up.

I am a fan of Statham but we will not see what he is made of until next year, was he a bit hesitant in them clips because I have seen that from him before?

hard to say given how brief the highlights are but the 3rd goal he was backing off and backing off the arsenal forward and just gave him too much space to smash in past de bie who had no chance. the 5th goal poch jr gave it away in midfield, arsenal played the ball through and statham put in a flimsy attempt of a tackle, the ball broke past him and they finished.

I like him as a player and hope he gets more game time but next year will be his time to step up.

For those in the know, has Sterling bulked up this season. In the video he appears to be substantially bigger than Ive seen him before, obviously growing naturally with age but just seems a bigger lad now.

I know it's not as simple as this but I don't think we would be any worse off in terms of results with KWP, CCV, Onomah, Edwards and Sterling this season instead of Aurier, Foyth, Sissoko, Nkoudou and Llorente.

Aurier is much better than kwp (at present) and has played on the big stage before. No way kwp performs as well as aurier has in the CL, especially away at madrid and dortmund. I'd argue that aurier is better than trippier too.

Foyth himself is only 19 and has just been brought in - you want to confine him to the scrapheap as well? And Aurier, Sissoko and Llorente, whatever their faults, are full internationals with the vital experience under their belts to come in and do a job.
Players from the youth setup are no ready alternative to established squad players. Especially not in the EPL...

Over the last few seasons Sterling has filled out a lot and he is hard to push off the ball but his hold up play needs to improve.

We have no players at the Nike Friendlies this year unfortunately, but there are a surprising amount of players from the EFL. GOod for England as they have more chances to come through in the future.

Nile John has been called up to 2 England u15 games
