We've all heard for a long time about the club's strategy of putting our young players under pressure by playing them out of position and structuring the side in a disadvantageous way but I do worry that it can also mask bad performances. You can always just say, oh, well we meant to do that. We never had any intention of taking the Youth Champions League Quarter Final seriously. It was our intention to be sloppy, disjointed, wide open and blunt up top. I've defended our youth strategy tirelessly for the last few years but it is extremely painful to see us play like this under the gaze of a significant number of Europeans who will take away the impression that we're a bit sh*t. It hurts.

skipp does have that slack square ball in him, needs to cut it out of his game.

i think we've over complicated the system a bit. we seem to be switching between 4231 and 3331(?) depending on whether we're in or out of possession, maybe just need to simplify it 2nd half and get hinds and reynolds down the line with the others playing their usual game.
Yeah, we’ve been dropping Marsh into RCB with Shashoua and/or Reynolds moving into the middle to allow Bennetts to have the left flank to himself. It’s not really working. Back to basics methinks!

Duncan and Patterson on for Tanganga and Maghoma. Maghoma makes total sense. Tanganga can only be because of a knock or because in general play we’re not having much defending to do?!

We've also added an extra man to midfield by getting Reynolds to drop into midfield as we play out. So fullback as we defend. Central midfielder as we attack.

We've got TJ & Skipp at the back, with Skipp passing it out. Hinds giving width down the right. Reynolds underlapping. Marsh sitting. Duncan as the runner from deep. Phoenix as 10, Shashoua cutting in and opening the flank for Hinds and Bennetts offering width down the left.

Poor free kick from Shashoua. Bennetts should’ve taken it, just scored one against Arsenal

Quite a big improvement this half. A Spurs goal will make things interesting. Would still like to see Bowden on for Marsh.

Jaden Brown on at left back (or we could go to a 3). Porto should have had a third there, great cross and header.
