At this point it'll be interesting to see who has a better career out of Shashoua and Edwards.

We’re struggling in the final third so far, only really Shashoua of the front four has turned up as yet. Porto look resolute.

Is Oakley-Boothe injured? This has to go down as a terrible season for his development. Fair enough if he's gotten to be in and around the first team squad more, but he's not even been able to supplement that with gametime at other levels.

We look very sloppy once we hit the Porto wall. Porto are so compact there's just no space. And as I type we go 2-0 down. Long way back now. We always look so tactically niave against European opposition. They're all so smart and well drilled. We're just...naff.

Skipp gives the ball away and Austin lets the ball through him for the second. This is pretty poor so far, what a shame.

Whilst they are well drilled, they weren't causing us any problems until they scored two lucky goals, which obviously changes a game.

Also as the commentator said this is their third attempt at a UYL quarter final so it should be expected that they are more tactically experienced at this level.

Its a common theme though isn't it. I find myself saying it all the time. We don't put it encouraging performances for the most part because its all about our attacking transitions. Following the youth (at a time of supreme productivity) is really, really frustrating these days because for all the talent we are a dreadful as a team. Its agony watching us defend.

Paris doesn’t really do much at this level.
He’s the one for me that is the weak link. Such a crucial position. Hoping Shashoua moves inside or Patterson comes on for the second half. Bowden for Marsh might be an idea too.

I'm not entirely sure what the strategy is with the UYL selections. Seems like they just throw 11 different eligible players out there each time.

skipp does have that slack square ball in him, needs to cut it out of his game.

i think we've over complicated the system a bit. we seem to be switching between 4231 and 3331(?) depending on whether we're in or out of possession, maybe just need to simplify it 2nd half and get hinds and reynolds down the line with the others playing their usual game.

I’ve said it before and will say it again. Reo Griffiths is nowhere near ready for the first team.

Feel bad for Oliver Skipp with 2 mistakes, Austin could’ve done better on both goal too.

Shashoua has been quiet this game, started on the right but ended the half in the centre. We need his creativity In the second half.

We don’t really have someone on the bench that can change the game. We will try and keep pushing up the back line and force Porto to move back. Marcus Edwards and Kazaiah Sterling was a big reason we’re in the quarterfinals, we miss them
