Just whatched first team match , I am a bit late but work calls . in my opinion , Amos very good , similar to winks , works hard . Oliver skipp looked bit nervous but very young. Marsh out of his depth even in his short cameo . Georgiou didn’t even notice him in his short time on pitch

Asking the experts. If you assume KWP Onomah Ccv go on loan and you could give KWP squad place to another kid who would you choose?
I’m confused as to how you think squad places for youth players work? There’s no limit on them. Presume you don’t mean in terms of playing time as that would just be based on players per position - there’s no academy ‘quota’ we have to fill.

Players are promoted to training with the first team squad based on individual merit, not based on if we loan out a few and thus have a gap.

I would however like to see Amos integrated a bit this coming season if we have any thoughts that he may make it with us; his performance the other night showed a lot of promise. Hopefully the stagnation we’ve seen from him and others at u23 level has changed after his loan. Fingers crossed there are fewer loans than your scenario too, as I’d very much like to see Onomah and KWP getting decent game time at Spurs this season.

KWP does not have a squad place. He is a free pick anyone under 21 at start of jan 2018 can play for us this season without affecting the squad numbers.

I think we might see KWP more at LB this season with Davies as a LCB if we don't sign another CB.

I'm not convinced we'll be going with a back three any more, especially if Toby ends up leaving. Partly through hunch, partly throug hoping Poch sees the 4-3-3 as the best way to get the maximum out of the attacking talent we've got.

Amos vs Roma:

Just to add a bit of clarity for anyone who didn't see the game, but he highlights only included the good he did. There were a couple of bad things that weren't shown. He was still very good though and arguably our second best player.

TBF besides a couple of heavy touches, he was very solid. The field certainly didn't help the players as it was hard and the ball had a weird bounce.

He played one horrible pass in the second half that left us wide open. There were a few heavy and high, although accurate, passes that could have put players in trouble if they didn't have a better first touched. I liked that he hit his passes firm though and when he had time to look up he general played the right pass.

I just don't want it to come across that he was flawless and trying to dampen some people's expectations a little.

Sure, it was a pre-season game and his 1st appearance for us in that position. No one has heralded him as the next Modric etc we're just happy that he got plenty of minutes and did well. He'll only improve with more opportunities and confidence.
