The way you brush off Toby staying says it all, and this doesn't only apply to you.

He's better than any player we would sign this summer even in the most "successful" of windows.

Then on top of that, Harry signing a new contract is even better.

I'm not brushing it off. But what I will say...How does Toby staying for one more season and then most probably going for a greatly reduced fee next summer and Kane signing a new contract mean we can't address areas we need to?

Happy with new contracts...feck yeah.

Happy with failure to address areas that required it...feckin embarrassing.

I dont know what to make of this, TBH. The only player we were ever really in for was Grealish and he might have worked out well but he might have been a flop for 35 million. We probably could have had Zaha for 70 million but there's no evidence Poch wanted him ( I didnt at that price). The rest of the links were pure speculation without knowing what the player or the selling club had in mind.

Im not making excuses - Im trying to wrap my head around this window. All we needed IMO was a midfielder and it looks like we just werent willing to spend what it would take to get one in that would be certain to be helpful.

But surely we should be aiming to win things not just be steady within the top four. Thats why Liverpool have spent so much because they know they are miles off City.

PS this isn't having a go, just frustrated by the club settling for CL and not being ambitious.

Why you telling me? I said in the very post you quoted the window has been a complete failure.

The number of people that slagged Baldini(even though they had no idea what he di) was incredible. Knew how to get deals over the line though didn't he.
I know Trix. I met him, and saw how he dealt. Guy was incredible. Wish we could bring him back

Im gonna put it out there, that window in the long run ended up being a catalyst for us making cleague. Alright 4 out of the 7 didnt work out but Eriksen is worth more now than the money we spent and Lamela has done a job and will yield a good profit one day. Heck even Chadli went for good money.

Anyway im talking total bollocks but id love to see Poch with a guy who could get players over the line.

Millennial Spurs fans on twitter are losing their minds as usual. A just wish they'd all fuck off i'm sick of hearing about it.

We didn't get our targets. It looks like Poch's list wasn't that big and the clubs involved didn't want to deal. Should we have just bought players we didn't want for the sake of it? Or wait until winter when the picture could be very different?

Incidentally the aforementioned twats who complain bitterly about us not spending the money to get the players are the same ones who were outraged we spent £31m on Sissoko. Who Poch wanted. Go figure.

Would love for this to happen.
edit: this is clearly opinion from Gards.
What a moron Gards is.

£40m on a painting is a guaranteed profit at that end of the market. If I had £40m I would sink £10m into property and £30m into art.

Anyway - mans acting like £40m is a big deal to Lewis ??

Lost the plot that one has. Stick to the facts !!

Just got in from work, haven't been able to check on the news so literally just learned about this. Not even sure how to react, I don't have the energy to get angry.

The last two transfer windows have been the most important in my lifetime and was the tipping point in whether we take the next step or stay still. We have properly, properly ballsed them up.

The fact is, if you compare our team from two years ago to our current team, it's actually become worse. We've lost the the best defence in the league, through one reason or another, while Dembele has declined and left a whole in the spine.

Apart from Sanchez and Lucas, we have failed to improve whatsoever. At this point we're on course for 4th, possibly 5th as Chelsea have done some good business and have previous of improving massively the season after a failure.

I really, really hope the lads prove me wrong but it's going to take a monumental effort. At least we have the new stadium to look forward to. COYS.
No it hasn't!

If Poch leaves us next year because he feels Levy hasn't backed him I'll fly over to London and will personally hunt Mr Levy down and get beaten up by one of his bodyguards. So help me god.

Careful mate, he knows his shit. He's just as pissed as the rest of you. In fact maybe more because he knew a lot more that was happening than the vast majority of those throwing their toys out the pram.

I think the formation, and players used within, will give away a lot with regard to where Pochettino most wanted us to strengthen and with what types of players.

Let's put it this way, I'll feel much better about life going forward if I see a 433 with Eriksen/ Dele in the 8/10 pivot, anchored by Dier, than I will if I see a 4231 with Sissoko in CM and Nkoudou cutting in off the left.

He was bang on all summer with the exception on Alder and hes clearly passionate.

Annoyingly Alasdair Gold was bang on and I say annoyingly because he kept killing my Zaha dreams.

Unfortunately I think sat will be a needs must formation but im hoping for 433 also, fixes midfield problem.

So you think that Poch will potentially throw the first game of the season to prove a point?

As much as I wanted to see what Poch could do with Grealish, im glad we didnt overspend for the sake of it.

Best wait before making judgements on the window and see how the season goes , which PL teams have signed anybody of proven quality , two overpriced goalkeepers !!
