We may have won nothing but let me tell you the last 3 years have been fantastic in terms of both team and player development. Whatever the shortcomings of Mr Levy I have enjoyed the last 3 years as much as the previous 50 !!! People have short memories and they should remember a lot of the dross we have had to previously endure. For a club like ours in the current climate we have over achieved and 3 years running in the champions league is as good as winning a trophy.
You forgot to mention Pochettino

I have supported this team since 91. This is the best I have ever had it supporting my team. When I read comments of people ready to boo our team I lose faith.

Yes, I would have liked us to make signings but how on earth would 35 million pounds on grealish have put us on par with City?

Seriously, this isnt Fifa or FM, this is the real world. And when you pay close to 800 million pounds for a stadium to allow us to constantly challenge to be top four in the the biggest leauge of the world, lets get some perspectice

For everyone going on about how much Pochettino has done for us, yeah he’s been great and I love him but come on, he’s not doing it out of the goodness of his heart, he’s doing his job, a very wonderful job that makes all of our jobs look horrible. I think he’s been brilliant and wouldn’t trade him for anyone (well, maybe Pep), but he’s paid to manage us to the best of his ability and that’s what he’s done. I’m not going to feel sorry for a guy who earns £8m a year to do a job that I’d do for enough to cover my meagre lifestyle.

You’re right. But if we want the club to succeed we back the manager that has done a lot more than any other manager has for us in a long time. Else we might as well bring Harry back.

Donna’s on this...

By the way, asking the best manager we’ve had in decades to retrace his steps, after making a comment that was so made regarding new signings is both a degrading insult to him (our best manager in decades), as well as the paying supporters. Don’t treat us like idiots. Man up and give us an explanation to YOUR failures, rather than ask Poch to do your dirty work!

And to add to what Hercs said, Poch and Levy werent talking a week ago or so....i hate being negative....

Add this to the info a couple of days back about Levy not being unwilling to spend the money. Has this week been a Poch powerplay?

Top targets or youth. Levy can take the flak if it all falls down. Wonder if Poch shut some potential deals down today. Also Toby, Rose, Dembele staying today, was that Poch too? Not wanting a weaker squad.

Someone contact BBLG, we need some serious spin to cheer us up after that.

Good points, but to be fair none of that has anything to do with this transfer window. In fact it makes it even more frustrating that the club has all of those positives but can't strengthen.

5/6 are subjective points that mean shit.

Would love to know who the two players were- it seems that Grealish was separate to them

Thats all i know, i dont know the back story....i didnt mention it at all cos i hate being negative...

Wouldn't surprise me if it was due to him being on the US tour, likely on commerical duties when he could have been closing deals in person. Believe stuff was going on in the media around Grealish at the time.

Either

• ENIC are selling up soon
• The stadium has eaten the transfer budget in light of no sponsor
• No one wants to deal with Levy / Levy's prices
• The market is tough

I believe it's the third reason.
With the exception of ENIC selling up soon, I'd imagine it was a combination of all of the above. Add to that, a dangerous level of hubris on behalf of Daniel Levy. He tried to outfox the realities of the window and came up short... very short.

IF... this has pissed off Pochetino enough for him to consider upping sticks and leaving at the end of the season, that would be catastrophic and I think the fans would be right to demand the chairman's head on a platter.

So, it truly depends on how the coach and players react. Plus Daniel will have January to make amends.

Right now though... I feel he has bridges to mend, and decisions to make. Such as, should he stand down from managing transfers? Should he look to sell? Should he step down period? Should he try to make things right with the players and coach by giving them enough cash to blind them from what he has done? Should he run and hide somewhere in the North Pole?

Up until today I was an admirer of Levy.

Today I loathe the sly, two-faced shit head.

Don't forget the new player lodge

Look, I agree. I would have loved some signings, but surely the point of this
If Liverpool, or Chelski or the Gooners hadn't strengthened over the summer, what would you have said? Would you have seen them as even more of a threat this season, despite everyone else around them improving their already better squads? We're moving into our iconic new stadium but without a marquee signing to herald a new beginning. We don't even have some squad freshener-uppers. What we have is what we had last season. A squad that finished 23 points off of first place. Actually we're a bit worse off this season because we over-relied on our stars last season because our squad was thin. This season our stars are coming off of a grueling summer, the likes of Dembele are a year older and more broken down, the likes of Kane, Ericksen, Alli and Lloris are a step closer to getting tired waiting for us to show some ambition to win something. Football doesn't stand still for you. If you're standing still, you're going backwards. There's no way to spin this window as anything other than a complete f*ck up. its not the end of the world but it is a f*ck up, a wasted opportunity and totally avoidable.

Ok, lets look at the facts. I see Liverpool having strenghted massively. They are still a bigger club than us. Arsenal - meh. Chelsea - could go either way. United could collapse. City bought Mahrez, fine, improvememt on Snae or Sterling?

It would make sense. No more bargain basement "backing" for Poch, that Levy can hide behind. Trouble is, my faith in Levy being able to broker deals for our top targets is almost as tiny as our net spend this summer.

I think Grealish was one to be honest. The other maybe a left back considering the news on Rose (Kurzawa). I think CM might have been a red herring.

Wouldn't surprise me if we were in talks over Kovacic and Chelsea screwed us.
