He really did.He really didn't.
He really did.He really didn't.
He really did.
McGregor was a twat for attacking a group, but Nabib and his people are fine for attacking a group of people and endangering people in the crowd? One man got involved in some stupid post match shenanigans which were in many ways understandable due to the provocation and racism in the build up.
The other attacked a bus with no provocation and injured bystanders. Indulged in racism, abuse and childish name-calling. And then got his arse handed to him both in and after the match.
Only one of them looks the most stupid and it isn't Khabib.
He made a fortune through his self promotion - without his behaviour and on ability alone he wouldn’t have got the Mayweather $100m. I am not sure he will really be up for proving his MMA legacy and may just try the movies etc. UFC has not really been fulll of trash talk like boxing, which was refreshing, until he arrived.Cash cows can’t afford to lose though, they quickly lose their appeal. McGregors biggest problem is he now has to face guys his own size and there are plenty at that weight who can give him serious trouble/beat him.

If people fall for McGregor's antics then they are bigger fools than him. He's a WWE character out of the ring and will say anything to wind people up and get people to pay money to watch him.
Arse handed to him after the fight by being attacked by three different people, all of who ran away when he squared up to them? You clearly don't like McGregor, which I don't blame you, but you're easily letting your opinion of him sway your judgement.

There was more than one guy in the kafuffle outside the octagon.I don't necessarily think what Khabib and his team did was 'fine'. But it was understandable.
McGregor threw the first slap at the trainers so boohoo if they slapped him back. Same for his pathetic entourage who couldn't seem to deal with one guy between them despite mouthing off all match.
And justifying McGregor's behaviour 'because it makes money' is simply not okay. It's perfectly possible to do all the smack talk and build up without crossing the lines that McGregor did.
Deserved every bit of it.

I'm not justifying McGregor's behaviour. I'm saying Nabib should expect it because it happens all the time, and he gets his chance to punish him for it when they get inside the Octagon. "Boohoo" if he was upset about it. If he was that upset about it there were plenty of opportunities to attack McGregor and his people before the fight.
Racism is never ok. I didn't see all of the comments so I don't know what the racist ones are you're talking about.Yup he should just ignore racism and attacks on his family.
The fact that anyone 'expected' it shows what a long term prick Conor has been.
Just a shame that so many people like him because he's a prick. Says a lot about his fans in the same way as those who like Mayweather.
Anyway...hopefully having been embarrassed twice in a night we'll not see much more of McGregor now.

I don't know why he has such an appeal either, but he does and that's why he gets away with things.
Again, how was he embarrassed twice? It says a lot of about the people who dislike him that they think getting beaten by a great fighter and being attacked from behind is embarrassing and are happy to see his team getting attacked.
This is wrong, I've been saying for a long time now that Conor isn't as good as people think, yes he has some ability but it's his mouth that bought him success. He was getting beat up Mendez, he caught Aldo with a great punch, never gave him the rematch. Knocked out Alvarez who wasn't the hardest opponent he could have fought, got beaten by Diaz, narrowly won the rematch, then avoided Khabib and Ferguson for two years. What you saw was his honest level. He would get beat by Ferguson Al Iquinta, Kevin Lee and maybe Edwin Barboza, Petis and Johnson too.
He had everything to do with what happened after the fight, he attacked the bus, he chose to take the piss out of his family, country and religion, no one has ever seen Khabib get that mad before.
Mouthing off the way he was and getting easily beaten was embarrassing.
Having your mouthy entourage made to look silly by pretty much one guy is embarrassing.
Even the sneak attack from the Khabib team was quite embarrassing for him as he
And yes I'm glad he got embarrassed. Because he's a terrible person.
Is he really a terrible person? Seems he’s just very quick witted and plays up like MMA is a WWE promotion which broadened a relatively niche sports appeal to wider public. Quite surprised anyone within the sport could take it so seriously - obviously Khabib did and credit to him that he managed to win on the sporting side so easily even though he was carrying so much emotion.
Not unusual in boxing. Dana White should have regulated his smak talk years ago- generally the community are respectful and educated with a “martial arts” philosophy within such intense physical competition & pressure. White even used the bus incident as part of the promotion for the event, but now says he was disgusted by the incidents. It's not WWE though. Attacking someone's ethnicity and their family isn't character work. It's what McGregor is in reality and everything in his career shows that.

Joe Rogan said on his podcast that Khabib was thinking of retiring after this fight anyways, said he's been fighting like this since he was 15 and he's had enough. It's exactly as you say, and I said...even for the pre-match trash talking, he went way too far. There's a limit to what you should be able to get away with and clearly, it was more important for Conor to 'sell' the fight than to respect the other man's family, his nationality and his religion. This is why I'm so glad he got beat and in such a manner. He got neck cranked and submitted, which is the ultimate humiliation.
I can't condone Khabib's reactions, but I can understand them. Pre-fight, it was all about Conor's great comeback. it was all about his filthy mouth and his complete lack of respect for his opponent. After the fight, Khabib was determined to make him pay for it.
I can see bad things happening to Khabib now and it's a real shame because he is truly one of the greatest fighters to have ever graced the octagon, now 27-0 but maybe never to return.
.
I agree with everything that you have said, it's a real shame for Khabib tI think the biggest shame is with Khabib in that he's made such an incredible positive into such a massive negative. I wouldn't even scrutinise him too much for what he did as he had to put up with a lot of shit from Connor and took it all on the chin and rightly so did all the talking with his hands. He shit-talked McGregor throughout and initially straight after the fight, that's fine, they don't have to hug it out, hell, even stick your middle finger in his face after your hand is raised, but despite what Connor had done you should try and be the bigger man and limit your reactions. You can't jump the cage and start attacking team members, just like you can't smash a bus window and endanger people like McGregor did but two wrongs don't make a right. The worst people were the three people of Khabib's entourage who jumped the cage and attacked Connor.
A shame for Khabib really, he just got the biggest win of his career and could have woken up feeling like a million dollars with the world praising him but instead he's gonna have to deal with a shit load of criticism and as of now will be mostly remembered for putting a stain on the sport.
Adrenaline. Pure and simple. He, by Rogen's accounts, had been pelted with abuse from outside the cage by Dilon and when they're in that fighting focused mindset it's not easy to just switch it off. I imagine had that been a 50/50 contest and both gone the distance then they probably would have both just slumped in exhaustion but as many have pointed out Khabib looked like he was sill tanked up and what you saw was all that pre-fight stress just come bursting out at once, must take a high level of constraint to not explode like that. Not saying I agree with it, and he should be stripped. A lot of hate in that fight. They were both in the wrong for what they each did, Conor with the bus attack and Khabib for jumping into the crowd. If Conor was an active champion when he attacked the bus he should have been stripped and suspended. I think Khabib should be stripped and suspended too for nearly causing a riot. Sure Conor got a bit involved but it was Khabib that set everything off.
What's crazy is Khabib did well to stay calm through all the build up and stayed that way into the fight. He got the win but still reacted that way at the end. You already got the win so why such anger after?
