Great ITK. A lot lines up with things we thought we already knew/assumed a couple things sounds like it comes from a player's perspective - like Yedlin and Soldado in training - particularly if its a younger player. Not fussed that it does not jive completely with Trix - we can't agree with much on a board, not surprising that other people view things differently.

Kudos to both for chiming in.

We obviously need a new striker, never said we didn't? It's just pointless to say we'd have scored less if Kane and Eriksen didn't play. That's obvious. Chelsea would have scored less if they didn't have Hazard and Fabregas wouldn't they. It's just attacking players aren't the priority for us to sign right now imo.

The reason why a new striker is required is Kane cannot play every game - we over played him last season and in some games didn't score because he was knackered. So signing a new striker means its likely we will score more. If he's a striker/WF then he can also play a few games as an AM.

Eriksen knackered for much of the second half of the season - as most commented his performance dropped. Delighted to see Pritchard likely to play next season - precisely the kind of player we need to spell Eriksen.

Nothing whatsoever to do with what you said 'we'd have scored less if Kane and Eriksen didn't play' - its all about having a group of players who can play 60 games, which means squad players and youngsters who can play 20 games a season when our first choice have played a few days before another game or are injured.

On one hand Jan is the most popular in the dressing room yet on the other he is going round saying he isn't happy with his CB partners and has arguments with them on the pitch.

And Schneiderlin has categorically stated he wants to go to a CL club. I am sure he knows that would mean competition.

Is he seen more as a midfielder than a defender? Can't see him getting much time as a CB with us next season

Has played both CB and CM - both equally well. If we have 5 CB's I agree its unlikely he'll play much if at all as a CB, which is one reason why its madness to have 5 CB's - and its unlikely even the 5th CB will play much .

The but that max me think this is all opinions is the Bentaleb contract thing. Would players really know what others are on?

Yep, I just can't see Jan doing that. Not a way to inspire warmth and respect from the others. Plus, I doubt that he'd want to:
a) knock young Dier's confidence
b) offend Fazio for fear of being mushed into a fine Belgian pulp

Jan spoke very highly of Dier in one of the post-match interviews on Spurs TV I remember. Doubt he would speak out about such a young prospect. Although it wouldn't surprise me if he's been vocally critical of Kaboul and Chiriches at times.

Great piece of ITK, but that last bit (sadly) seems to have turned out to be untrue. Manchester Evening News is saying he passed his medical at United today. Seems to be a formality from here on out.

Hahaha how spursy is it to get itk for the ages only to see that the player we were gonna get is signing for another club within hours of the itk

If this is true then they've certainly been busy this week. Got to admire them for rapping up deals so quickly, and before the pre-season tour gets underway. Mind you, they've got the cash and the contacts, so it'll be easier for them.

With a name like AberYid is think the said player is Ben Davies. In South Wales 95% of place names begin with Aber.

Maybe, as the Bentaleb contract was getting a lot of press attention. Reported he was asking for a big increase. This would def be of interest to the other players and without doubt to their parasites, sorry agents. Maybe just supposition but no doubt they would have opinions.

At least this MS fiasco is over. Got pretty tired of convincing myself he's done and then getting hopes because of some passing comment like 'could still happen mate'. Now we go for McCarthy. COYS

Manchester news papers reporting deal agreed with Schneiderlin for United & has also passed medical.
So, major talking point of this thread now gone...

I think the unverified stuff reads as credible, and while Trix's stuff is probably true on a practical level, I think he's being a bit harsh on the guy.....not least because most ITKs themselves can only have access to part of the ladder, not all of it. So I figure it's the same pinch of salt with the "unverfied stuff" as it is with all the ITKs stuff. They do their best.
