In any event, people are being ridiculous if you dont think that injuries are not going to play a factor. Look how reliant we were on dembele and he was forced to play through injury towards the end because although we had other candidates, we did not trust them to come in and perform as well as an injured dembele.

Luckily GB is going nowhere and next year we'll win the league. Bale will go on to stay for the rest of his career and everyone lives happily ever after

Welp, we're getting hit from all angles the past 24 hours. AVB (unsubstantiated or not) to PSG, Bale world-record bid which would be hard to turn down, bid for Bernard rejected and no definitive interest in Paulinho.

Life of a Spurs fan, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Well actually, I could think of others ways I'd have it...

Which is why I could see us lining up the deals prior to Bale's sale.

It sounds like we may have already bid for Bernard and possibly Paulinho. Whoever is buying would know they'd be getting Bale, but they'd need to know that we need to look out for our best interests in getting our deals locked up ahead of time to save as much money as possible, and to adequately build the squad with the funds received. I'd imagine that the Bale + whatever money we had available previously would equate to around 100m available to spend.

It then becomes if Levy would actually spend that much with a new stadium needed. Part of me highly doubts it, and if he doesn't, could you blame AVB for jumping ship?

But, if he doesn't want an upheaval on his hand, he's going to have to show some true ambition even after selling our best player.

If he goes and the money doesn't get invested in new players, might as well sell AVB for 10 million and the entire first team for good money and play our juniors next season.
