By all accounts it looks like he is going to Liverpool for £15 million.
As far as I can tell all of the recent reports came out of one crap story in the Metro. There's nothing on AS or Marca about it, other than that Benitez doesn't fancy him, Liverpool not mentioned at all. And at least one good journo from the Liverpool Echo has said they aren't interested and BR doesn't want any new holding mids after Can and Allen.

That sure as hell doesn't mean he's coming to us... but moving to Pool doesn't seem to be as much of a sure thing as I previously thought.

Any chance of us adding just a touch of experience to the squad? Someone to help all these kids we're bringing through or buying? I'm all for giving youth a chance, but find it frightening how little experience and leadership we have.

A few more results like this and the pressure on these kids could really effect them. There are moments when you need to pull them out of the firing line, but we can only replace them with more youngsters. I'm sure they themselves will be looking around the pitch for an experienced head to turn too. We've seen before what a Cambiasso or a Laurent Blanc can add to a young or inexperienced team.

I worry that if this ends up being a tough season, the boos and the weight of expectation will leave us with a group of talented players shot for confidence causing long term damage.

Anyway, ITK... (interesting bit bolded)

@GaffneyVLC @pokeefe1 agreed Lamela was awful! Not sure what we are going to do with him! He has options!!

If one of those options involves me driving him to Heathrow airport, I'm ok with that....

In all seriousness I really don't think he has what it takes to succeed at Spurs, would love to be wrong but how long do we have.....he'll be out of contract before too long!

(Not sure where to put this as there is no player thread so mods feel free to move or delete if wrong)

Remember a month or two ago when the Goat linked us to Rennes winger Paul-Georges Ntep? Yesterday they admitted that Tottenham scouts were at their game vs Montpelier... Goat has been awfully good so far this window.

Ntep has a long term injury

You have to pay for experience and swallow low resale potential.. So.. :(

Illaramendi is as slow as treacle. I know how talented he is as a dribbler and passer, but he makes Huddlestone look quick.

I don't expect Olympic sprinters but I would have thought Schneiderlin pace is about as slow as we'd want to go. Quickness of mind won't help him much when we turn the ball over.

The ball travels faster than the player.
