Ali Z on COYS re Adebayor:

"no doubt Tim wants him just a case of can Villa do a deal. Ade will not go cheaply he will want the earth from us and a big salary from Villa."

Update on Chicharito of sorts in his thread - Nothing we hadn't already heard I think but a post saying we're interested by Di Marzio on his blog. In case you need a break from the Berahino chat.

Who says he would be back up? He has a very similar skill level to kane and probably a few attributes that are better than kanes. They would be good for each other, very similar in talent but both have different strengths
Exactly! It's competition for Kane. Certainly not playing 'back-up' as most as suggesting.

Top clubs needs 3 capable strikers to compete over the course of a season. Remove Ade and Soldado from the equation and we're left with one....and we're all praying that Kane has a season like he did last year too.

Friend of mine who's in the McLaren pit crew got his photo with Chicharito at the (I think) Monaco grand prix a couple of months ago. He also got his photo taken with CR9. Maybe Chicarito will bring his mate with him?

Can't see Berahino staying at WBA.
Can't see the 4 teams above us interested.
Our focus on players with Prem experience

Just makes sense on a lot of levels.

I think we just want shot so he would have to be so greedy it would be rediculas. So ..... We are fucked.

Didn't JJ allude to hungry, young but experienced PL players and that our target(s) had a lot of pace?

SB would certainly fit that.

I don't think he said PL experienced for the attacking positions, more the CDM position.

It's not about individuals. It's about the sum of all parts. Think Blackburn rovers all those years ago. Or Wigan winning the FA Cup.

Agreed, but the sum of it's parts at Old Trafford have added up to two hundred and twenty two million so far under LVG. I understand that the Levy is moving in a different direction but we have to be realistic in our ambitions. The Wigan's of the PL come around once every decade or so, and that's about all we can hope for regarding Silverware in all fairness.

Think it was two separate pieces of ITK.

I vaguely remember him saying up and coming PL players as well.

But he definitely intimated the DM could be prem proven and a lot of attacking options we were looking at were young foreign talents.

Trix has said that his agent was the issue we had and now that has been removed things could change.
Although how that relates to turning up late for training, matches, fighting with his team mates and off field issues I don't know.
Maybe Pullis has calmed him down and set him straight.
His agent was a huge barrier but not the only concerns.

Gards said we are interested and trix said sacking his agent opened up negotiations or something.

I have no idea if we have spoken to him but it would be more likely now his agent has been sacked

No way would we have touched him at the time JJ made that post as he was still with Ward at that point.
