Our back up keeper is on his last legs... This is the perfect time to bring someone in. £5m for a international GK with Prem experience is a bargain!
Plus, there was talk of Brad doing his coaching badges... He always comes across as both a decent and intelligent fella when interviewed - would be good as ambassador for spurs in US. Hugo; Vorm; & Brad... Great goalkeeping team....

Are you actually with it BG? lol

We've got some decent service from Friedel late on in his career but it has to end sometime, its not like he's only in his late thirties, he's well into forties for God sake.

Vorm is a very good keeper who can slot in and provide a very similar style to that of Lloris which only breeds stability defensively.

Its great business IMO.

it's not great business as we don't have much to spend anyway so why waste 5m on someone who will barely play, i'd rather put it towards someone who is going to contribute on a weekly basis. how many of city, utd, chelsea, arsenal and liverpool have a backup keeper they've spent 5m on? not to mention they're all far more flush than us as well. bonkers waste of money but oh well, it's not my money to throw away.

You'll be grateful we had a top number two if we do better than expected and challenge for the top 4 or get to a cup final and find out that Lloris is injured.

If Lloris got injured a month or two into the season and was ruled out for several weeks we'd be all thanking our lucky stars we had a number two like Vorm to come in.

Relying on the veteran, adjusting the style, and with his legs a year heavier could be to our real detriment.

Barely play? Europa, league cup, FA cup. Also you can guarantee with the risky game Lloris plays there will be an injury or sending off in their somewhere. Decent back up is incredibly important IMO.

City just signed Caballero for £4.4mil rising to £6mil to be backup to Joe Hart and Arsenal look to be signing Ospina for £4mil

we have a number two and the likelihood of lloris being out for any length of time is minimal. how many games has he missed since becoming first choice? how many games do 1st choice keepers generally miss? the answer is very few. so spendng 5m on a backup keeper is a waste.

Another thing that BG isn't considering is that Vorm could be our future number one...if Lloris was to leave, heaven forbid, in a season or two.

So we'd have a top class replacement in line to step in straight away who's completely familiar with the Club, manager, team and style we play.

It's £5m so it's hardly the end of the world is it? We don't need many major signings anyway so it's insignificant and unlikely to impact on our other business.

I don't get why you're so worried about it. You should be pleased we've got ourselves the best no2 we could realistically attract.

Vorm coming is smart on his and our part.
As has been stated, he gets a decent contract. He also gets to join a higher level club; he's kinda missed his chance of getting a first choice gig, so makes sense to come to a club like us. Plus he's well set if anything happens to Lloris, short-term or long-term.

£5m isn't too much for a quality keeper & we do need to minimise the effect any injury to Lloris would have.

Is that ITK or just you making assumption without foundation?

Am guessing the latter as I can't see how you would know that.

yeah, city the richest club in world football have just spent 4.4m on a backup keeper. basically proven my point, thanks.
You're forgetting about PDP. While a keeper is not a priority the prices we will be quoted from by other clubs will be substantially lower than when we do need to replace Brad
