I'm pretty sure in a 50+ game season all three would get good amounts of games. Keep in mind we had very short domestic cup runs this season, and all three of Pav, Crouch and Defoe got plenty of first-team football, even with the latter being injured for a large part of the season. I Don't think we'd have a problem in juggling VDV with 2 other new strikers and one of our current lot (most likely Pav). Especially if we get towards the business end of the Uefa Cup.

Plus, I wouldn't refer to Huntelaar or Vucinic as 'uber' strikers. They're a tier or two below what we should be going all out to get. I'd be happy with them though.

I agree their not exactly uber strikers, but my point was that we are unlikely to sign two of these big guns, big money strikers. If we were City or Chelsea your point would be valid but we are not, and we have never spunked huge sums with big wages on players with the intention of merely strengthening our "squad" and to sit on the bench waiting for their turn. To be honest, there's only two clubs in our league that have. Even ManU and Arsenal don't really do this.

And I think this why we heard we are looking for one experienced and two younger ones. This makes far more sense for a club like ours. Look at the moaning and problems we've had accommodating Defoe, Keane and Pav.

But it really isn't beyond the realms of possibility to grasp that just because we are interested in a player - in the way that any ambitious club with a few bob to spend would be interested in any top drawer player if available - and our chairman makes a call and discusses the possibility with our manager, their chairman and even the players agent to test the demands etc, it doesn't mean that it is likely to happen. But still this could be leaked out - that we are "interested" or "in negotiations" by sources, including Redknapp.

Scenario:

Levy and Redknapp discuss Adebayor. Redknapp says "exactly what we need". Levy sees the the possibility of maybe a loan if City are prepared to pick up some wage tab. He phones up City and suggests this. They say "fuck off". Redknapp in press conference "Daniels trying to do something with City"

It's not a lie, just a typical Redknapp soundbite to keep his interest value high with his media feeders".

I have specifically asked him for an explanation as to why he claimed he hadn't heard anything about these two players when Redknapp had made our interest, spurious or not, implausible or not, into the public domain.

I never siad I needed a rambling explanation like yours, nor does my post indicate in any way that I needed one.

Look, BC, here is the pertinent piece, copied and pasted from the post you quoted, as you, apparently, didn't read it the first time:

"I didn't say that other sources had said deals were being struck for Rossi and Adebayor. I said a lot of ITKs (Spurs specific) have said that we are interested, or that Levy is trying, and the manager himself has publicly confirmed this in regard to both these players. And yet you said, specifically, that you had heard nothing about these two players. That is, quite frankly, odd, and I asked you to explain it."

I repeat, I specifically asked him why it was that Redknapp had put our interest in these players into the public domain but he claimed to have heard nothing. He's a journalist, surely he has heard Redknapp's public confirmation of these deals. Why did you feel the need to provide me with the totally unneccessary explanation as to why there could be rumours of interest without the deals happening? (I think I know, actually).

I want Monday's Leandro
Tuesday, Wednesday Osvaldo
Thursday it's Adebayo
But Friday's for Mirko

Saturday then,
Sunday linked to Klass again,
Friday's still not if but when,

Monday linked to Carlton Cole,
Tuesday, Wednesday takes it's toll,
Thursday no-one to score goals,
But Friday, still Mirko

Haha, priceless, after seeing us being linked with Huntelaar I was gonna comment on how ridiculous things are getting again but that song sums it all up brilliantly.

But hasnt Harry also said that the club are nowhere near doing something yet all other sources are claiming that deals have been done. His answers are generic answers given when a quaestion or name is given to him in a press conference.
ie
Q) Mr Redknapp, rumours suggest you are after Rossi.
A) He is a good player, the chairmens looking into a deal. See IF it can be done.

Q) Mr redknapp rumours suggest Adebayor
A) Only if we can get him on loan.

He is simply saying what journalists and fans want to hear.

And isnt Redknapp known for being best at that.

Can't find it Faz, how far back do I need to go? You know what it's like in here when you've not been around all day.

Or somebody could just tell me what it is seeing as it's not in the RO.

Sorry mate, He basically said its nonsense but did just confirm the Hutton news.

How does this answer the question I asked you?
I didn't ask if they were sincere answers, likely top come about, or generic answers with little chance of coming to fruition. I didn't say they must come to fruition because Redknapp has confirmed interest.
I asked specifically how it could be that a journalist claiming to be so intimate with the transfer dealings could have never heard of any interest from THFC in these players when the manager, Harry Redknapp, had confirmed it publicly, thereby putting it in the public domain.

Could you please just answer that:shrug:

The Journalist did also say we could spend £60m+ so it's not all bad news from him, and we know we won't spend £45m on the Schalke forwards.

If kjh was what we need, then why didn't we sign him last season? He wouldn't hack it in England, nor would schalke sell after a year nor would he move after spending most of the season injured.

From the Journo's info I'd be happy with Huntelaar, Not too keen on Farfan though to be honest, now maybe this £25 million figure would be Levy's idea for both Huntelaar and Farfan, I could see that, he does like a bargain old Levy see Van Der Vaart for £8million.

Arturo Vidal, age 24, fantastic player, goes to Juve for shit money and we are scouting Germany? And we are going to spend our record amount on a 3 year flop.

I don't give a shit about sources. I'd like to know who in the club are making these stupid decisions.

DP, I seriously doubt Levy would spend £25 million on Huntelaar alone, I could see some lost in translation and it actually being Huntelaar and Farfan for that much, £15 million for Huntelaar and £10 million for Farfan would be more realistic IMO.

Would have been nice to go in for Vidal but would have been futile. He's wanted to go to Juventus for a while.

I'm thinking we either inquired too late (when did Roger Morgan say we were looking at him) or we decided we have enough central midfielders and we can't offload enough of our other midefielders like Jenas/Palacios.

Or we're just incredibly stupid.

Whoever we have scouting in Germany must be fucking blind or fucking stupid!

Pair Vidal and Sandro together and no-one is getting past them!

Probably the later with Redknapp in charge. Especially with him turning down Suarez, fucking idiot.
