Makes sense and Mourinho is naive for thinking this would prevent the Bale deal tbh.

Weren't we only going to let Bale go if we had 2 players coming in for that area? Lamela and Willian. Take out Willian and it's just Lamela. Now if that doesn't come off, we can't let Bale go even if he is over there.

That was just wishful thinking of our behalf. We never had unequivocal ITK saying we had to have two people in beforehand.

I think it'll now be Lamela in Bale out and whoever we can get after is a bonus.

Sucks because the plan obviously became Willian AND Lamela then Bale out

Was hoping the plan was Willian/Lamela, Willian/Bale or Lamela/Bale. All three combinations would've been brilliant.

No way mourinho wouldnt want Bale to go to RM and even if he did why would Abramovic buy into that idiocy?

Must be to do with DiMaria and Benzema to Arsenal maybe too?

Yeah I think so, it's probably more to do with delaying Arsenal and Manure from strengthening earlier.

You mean apart from the likes of JJ, who said it wasn't a done deal yet, or rebrab who stated that "Barnett told us not to worry", or any of other ITKs giving information stating that we were in the process of sending off the documents when the bid from Chelsea arrives and dodgy Kia pulled his client out.

KJ is utterly devoid of any morals when it comes to his line of business, he is a mercenary of the highest order, he cares nothing for his clients career and only cares about the cash he can make for himself!! The moment I knew he was Willian's agent, I realised our bid was doomed!!!

Hopefully the scums win today will reinforce whingers belief that they don't need any new players!! :)

This is just my opinion, but if Ljajic turns down Roma, people need to prepare themselves for the doomsday scenario of the Lamela deal being held up further. Roma's fans are going to be upset if he goes and no other replacements are bought. There's also the added fact that Roma now know we are desperate after the Willian disaster, and would be smart to hold out and up the price significantly.

Really, that late hijack move by Chelsea fucked us over so badly, that it could have long-lasting ramifications on us as a club. We went from having an ultra versatile player in Willian wrapped up, with Lamela on the way (Roma would've had less negotiating leverage and the team would've looked even more inviting for Lamela) and a team ready to seriously contend for the title, to a team that still has holes in the first XI and in the squad (centre-back, striker, left-back, central attacking midfield, left-wing) with little time to fill some of them.

One hopes we can still sign Lamela, Eriksen, and a centre-back, at the least, but anything less will be a disappointment.

Why didn't you say something then? :( Could have saved me some false hope

Thought they already purchased Gervinho? I read their manager rates him.

So which deals that we {think we} know about does the willian hijack get in the way of?

Bale to Madrid (helps chavs in Europe, hinders them locally)

Benzema to the scum (helps them domestically & in Europe)

Lamela to us (helps them domestically)

What else?

Assholery is a great word!

There wasn't really an existing word for me to describe how despicable Chelsea are...so I invented one.;)

Galahad the Gnome (updating the previous) via Prof on COYS:

"Sorry to all COYSers. Info was solid at time of sharing. Was told he'd arrived at the lane to sign a contract. Never crossed my mind there was time for a hijack. Gutted.

Chelsea hijacked the Willian signing to try and scupper other big deals, not only involving us. These other pieces to the puzzle have been widely reported. Now there is a sequence of deals on hold as everyone regroups, which is why Bale has not yet been signed by RM."

--------------------------

GTG makes perfect sense to me.

For Abramovich & Mourinho I think the Willian deal was both Business and Personal.

1) It denied AVB his number one target, and delayed our giving AVB the squad he wanted to implement his philosophy;

2) It sabotaged the domino cascade of transfers, many involving Real Madrid outgoings to rival EPL clubs;

3) Sweet revenge for the oligarch crook for Modric, Arnesen & the rest of it.

Business and Personal.
