Thing is I can just about tolerate Bale being sold for a world record bid, but only if it is done quickly and we have a strategy in place to bring in 3 players of real ability into the club to make the collective strong again.

What I cannot countenance is Levy holding fast until deadline day and selling him and fumbling around at midnight like virgin on prom nignt to bring in some players the way the Scum did when they sold Cesc and Nasri. That would be beyond the pale and would see me probably lose all faith in the Levy regime.

You make a very valid point in your first paragraph but It annoys the hell out of me that every time we have a world class player we sell them before we get another one in Berbatov, Modric, Modric Bale, Bale, Soldado (ok I know Modric and Bale played together for a bit) but just as the side starts to develop it starts to be dismantled

When somebody says "Levy says" I always wonder who to?
So still no ITK on Bale leaving then?

ali z posted on coys that real have turned bales head but their offer is nowhere near the fee being reported. just like modric it seems they want bale to lower the price for them.

DL won't stand for this shit, so very interested what's around the corner.

I would be surprised if Levy didn't make some kind of complaint or take legal action over RM antics.

I was thinking yesterday that such a complaint or legal action might be behind AVB refusing to comment on the Bale rumours after yesterdays game.

He'll stay another season but I think because his head has been slightly turned even if we qualify for the CL he'll still be off next summer, I think thats all this has guarenteed

Think he's probably gonna wait until £150mill is bandied around before hitting back. lol But he will def. not stand for this in principle.

Sherwood said that he is 1000000% that bale is staying and avb has said he's not for sale at any price. Surely he must have given everybody at the club reassurances that he is definitely staying.

Llm has backed this up, potl has said contract discussions are well in advance and Jj has said everything is cool.

He has these new sponsorship deals that have him in a spurs shirt.

We are making some really good signings and look to be building an excellent squad.

So surely all this bale stuff is just bullshit.

Exactly what I was thinking. From what I have heard AVB is not exactly happy about this at all.

Levy will be loving this. We have everything Madrid want and hold all the cards.

I don't blame GB if his head has been turned, not many footballers could resist the lure of Madrid. Hopefully, as people have said, he is not about to throw his toys out the pram a la Modric.

Could be misinterpretation by someone thinking that because Bale said he would like to play RM (as most player would) and reading it as his head has been turned. Well, that is the only thing I can think of that would explain some of the ITK that suggests this.

The sad thing for me is that I had retained some hope that if we had a blinder this season he'd stay on.
That appears to be completely impossible now. :(

If I was a world class player and RM done this to me.

I would ask Levy to let me speak to them in person and then shit on their desk and contract and tell the to part take in some serious ice docking (that's just fucked). RM used to be great club once I had respect for, now it is now run by a bunch of parasites on the game.

Fuck RM, I hope they rot in hell.

Maybe if we lifted the Premier League trophy that might change. A couple more signings and that is a possibility.

Soldado played 47 games last season for Valencia. I don't want to see Ade go either, but if RS stays healthy our backup striker may not play a very important role this season.
Well seeing as this is the premier league. The most physical and toughest league in the world, do you want to take that chance?

Just because there was positive itk about Bale, doesn't mean it is relevant now. Things change, and if his head has genuinely been turned then we need to think about what is best for THFC. My thoughts were 85m or whatever wasn't enough to flog a happy Bale. If he now definitely wants to go, then 85m is more than enough. Madrid, have played their hand very well. Although they are still a bunch of ***ts.

Well, if he helps us get Champions League + maybe a trophy, that alone will help us attract a higher quality replacement for Bale and it will also mean more money and potential for better sponsors. Yeah, we'd lose Bale, but it'd still be hugely important for the club.

I'm guessing the project isn't impressive enough for Bale :cautious:

Can't help feeling he owes us one more season, if he was to stay and Soldado is to come; he could help fire us into CL and leave us in good stead for the future.

Also IF the 'now or never' part is true and that's turned his head; is that indicative that Bale doesn't have the confidence in himself he can elevate to a higher level - Jump ship when your stock is highest etc? Because if not that's a load of shit; you're telling me if he banged in 40 goals next season Madrid would not come crawling back for him, with even more money clenched in their grubby little hands.

Great point. If I was Bale I would be responding with, "so what you are telling me is that if I stay another season and my form doesn't drop, you'd not be interested even if both the club and I were open to a transfer? 1.) I don't believe you. 2.) Go f*** yourself"

Out of interest, was it ever public knowledge how the Ronaldo fee was structured?

If they give us anywhere near £85 million I bet it will be some shitty structure and clauses.

Also we're looking at a situation where the agitation starts now, Bale probably stays and Madrid get their man for a reduced price than would have been likely next summer simply because his contract will only have 2 years on it by then.
Which is fucking sneaky but exactly what happened with Modric.

They want him either now or then but can't afford stupid fees any more so they do all they can to engineer a reduction.

I am led to believe it was £80m straight cash, it was impossible for Utd to turn down
