Finally some people are agreeing with me on Danny rose as everyone on here seemed to be wanting him as our first choice left back and thinking he is something special! Is poor defensively and as wasn't good enough to be a top sides winger they were hoping to mould him into an attacking fullback but I've seen nothing to even suggest he will be good enough for us. Wasn't even good at sunderland. They had terrible defence and wasn't even good going forward. The media say he good and all of a sudden everyone loves him! Same way as they say that Torres (22 goals) is terrible yet Wellbeck (2 goals) is England's saviour! People believe whatever they say! Roses defensive shortcomings are too poor for a top side and while he may be considered to be attacking, his standard at this is not good enough to compensate and I doubt it ever will be. As you said benny is 100 times the player and it is his defensive frailties that has us (me included) wanting him replaced, yet benny is againuch better defensively than rose aswell as better going forward and having more experience. Also feel Naughton is a better option than rose. We should sell rose while his price is inflated and before he gets found out. If we start the season with him as our left back it will cost is as the rest of the defence will have to compensate for him therefore meaning they are weakening themselves by doing so. Would love us to sign Contreau. a real attacking fullback that can also defend. Could attract him to us due to lack of playing time at madrid and his Portuguese connection with avb. He's also a cool fucker!

re your question, yeah I'm booked in again for July 18th, which is good BUT I've got a pre-season to overlook, friendlies to organise, players to entice. It's going to be a royal pain in my LilyWhite ass :(

Not to 'cross threads' for fear its a bad a 'crossing streams' for Ghostbusters - if Jedvaj was only to come in January window, it ties up with the ITK from that we are having a look at how Kaboul holds up / Caulker's continued development , and bringing an up and coming CB, but not immediately ready for 1st team squad.

I was with you all the way until you mentioned Naughton! Another one that should be straight out the door/window lol

Any Jedvaj transfer involving him coming later spells out 'staggered payments' in big letters to me.
Really hope there's something in this

I think Naughton did well when called upon last season and whilst I think he will never be first choice for us I feel he's solid back up as can play either side and imagine he wouldn't mind being a sub for a while. It's impossible to keep, for example, two world class, top four standard, right backs happy IMO, aswell as a properly ran club like us being unable to afford this, so the back up player will always be a compromise. I'd normally go for a youth prospect to be slowly bled into the team to take over from the current player, but as walker is young himself this wouldn't happen for a long time, so Naughton IMO opinion is a good option, unless we in earth a 17 year old wonder kid ala shaw, but our own player then I don't think we have many options for back up. What would you suggest out of interest? A versatile player maybe?
