For that money we can take our pick of young players abroad and they probably will have a higher ceiling to boot.

He really isn't a 25/30 million pound player yet imo

There are certainly better options than Berahino out there for £25m or so - particularly given the Euro/£ exchange rate.

Do you think WBA have been moving the goal posts? A couple of weeks ago it seemed the price got hiked but maybe's that my spurs tinted specs

yes.

as spurs have increased their bids, so wba have tried to indicate that the price they want for Berahino is being increased from £25m to $30m. Think its a ploy to try to drag ManU (who also want a striker) into thinking he's a better player than he is right now

It's odd all the papers and commentators say son is in to play as a cf. pretty sure there wrong but that's the thoughts in the media
I've seen plenty of him and I agree he's not a striker. I'd be hoping for at least a loan signing. Even if it's not with a view to be a perm I think we need somebody who can play up there and rotate with Kane, I think if he's overplayed he'll be ineffective and exhausted, a decent loan stop gap just to relieve the pressure on Kane. There must be somebody out there!

It's always down to money. The less you are willing to spend, the longer it takes. So we take forever. If Chelsea wanted berahino it would take them 24 hours. That's just what we have to deal with. I can't see us getting berahino now. Think we are done unless we get quite a few outs

If that really were the case then John Stones would be wearing Chelsea colours already, or De Bruyne in Citeh Sky Blue.

Maybe but I can't think of many off the top of my head who are willing to come to us - some have decent goal scoring records, but in weaker leagues and the risk is they may not adapt to the EPL.
I think given our troubles with Soldado, Lamela and Paulinho, all of who had good performances in other leagues but just didn't adapt to the EPL / manager style, we are more keen to pursue English players. As mentioned by MP at the start of the season.

It'll be interesting to see whether the bank holiday limits the amount of ITK coming through. I really hope it doesn't.

I'm nervous. 48 hours to go and beyond Berahino (which is a deal I'm losing confidence on by the day) I have absolutely no idea what is going to happen.

I know all the reasons/arguments about late deals etc, etc but the one thing we know is that Poch (rightly) doesn't throw them straight in and waits until he thinks they are physically and tactically ready. With that in mind we are going to be one fith, maybe one quarter through the season before we see our strongest line up on the pitch, let alone the time it takes to build an understanding. Whilst that is still in terms of games 'early' in the season, that is a lot of potential points dropped.

Good amount of noise when Son was arriving. Seems very quiet generally now. If we had something imminent, you'd think we'd be hearing something. I'd be surprised if we pull in anything more than a loan striker. DM could be dead now Dier is staking a claim.

Wont be good enough in my book. An all to similar close but no cigar window.

Lets see.

Ridiculous if true.

Poch will want another striker and Poch should be given another striker. Christ - there's been plenty of time to identify and bring them in.

If so then Berahino must be off to another club.
