BEN: very unlikley signing another striker i am told
maybe another midfielder
poch sees nijie as somone through the middle and if kane out son striker up top
Hope that is wrong. Any team with serious thoughts of competing in the top half ( not even top 6) of the PL, the Europa league and the 2 domestic cups cannot possibly expect to function with 1 specialist striker. It's ridiculous. If Kane gets injured for a few weeks, we would then be sweating over Son or Njie in exactly the same way and they aren't really strikers anyway.

Ridiculous if true.

Poch will want another striker and Poch should be given another striker. Christ - there's been plenty of time to identify and bring them in.

Maybe Ade's not going then?... Can't see we'd be left with 1 striker in the squad.

Well if this is accurate we're taking a massive gamble, and frankly its going to be a long hard season. Its not just about Kane being out either, we need more fire power to help him, every chance he doesn't hit the same figures as last season being a marked man.

Berahino is proven in this League. We're asking for big trouble if we decide we're pinning our hopes on a French kid who didn't even have much experience under his belt in the French league let a lone has none here...and Son who isn't primarily a CF and also has no experience in this League, albeit I expect him to fit in relatively quickly.

Personally I don't believe this info will turn out to be the case....

No point buying just any striker, teams have shown you can use a false no 9. I think we need to give our two new signings a chance, both bought as payers who can score but offer more. With Chadli and Eriksen we do have goals in the team and if we keep Lamela maybe he can discover his form

If we really want an out and out striker then Austin fits the bill but not at an inflated price.

If BEN is correct, the meltdown on Tuesday night will spectacular.

And rightly so.

I'll remain optimistic until the end.

However, like everybody else I will be hugely disappointed after believing all summer that we will bring in what is required.

We've done some fantastic work but the job needs to be finished.

It's Kane i'll feel sorry for.

If we don't sign another striker then Levy has to be forced out by fan demos or whatever it takes

Kane is knackered already, looks out on his feet like a punch drunk boxer, we don't sign a striker we are fucked

Spend on a striker now or wait until January for an inflated market (and hopefully not too many points dropped) to buy one. Hmm, decisions...

Sounds pretty spot on. All the papers and TV say son there to play up top. The 22 max bid on berahino then went on Son. This is going to disapoint many.

  • Thanks dov: Not what I was hoping for or expecting. Thought it was sorted for Berahino but maybe Pearce is just being obstinate with Levy. Posturing and macho thoughts etc.

No team in professional football only has 1 striker. It's pure madness. Time is running out though

We will have to wait and see what happens, but I'm finding Ben's info lately is requiring increasingly more salt than in the past.

Hard to believe they would really just ignore these two needs with so many games ahead. Yes Son and N'Jie could play up top of they have to but the wings are where they are better suited and help this team more due to a lack of pace in the outside. Dier had been pretty good but what if a CB gets injured. Does he have to move back? Who then is your DM?

IF they do stand pat, then I think criticism is well deserved because it would likely come down again to money.

Not sure the context of this but is it possible that the "another striker" part means "if Berahino doesn't pan out" and not "we're not getting another striker at all"?
