lol...I know that mate but its unlikely we'll sign him and he isn't a priority as such, good player though.

Hope it isn't a case of wasting time on deals that cant really be done when there are far bigger issues to resolve....because after January that would piss me off.

im sure its not a waste. how can it be. at end of day if we have not played our cards in relation to strikers then we never will. striker wise for me we will just have to wait and see but like i been saying all along we need to strenthen up rest of team until striker issue sorts itself out and it will.

agree with kdspur - we cant put everything else on hold whilst we look for a striker. We have other weaknesses in the squad and if we can improve that then we should do so. Hopefully by the end of the window we ll have improved our striking options but also our depth

Never said it was a waste...just unsure what our priorities are...time will tell I guess.

Mata won't be coming to us, Harry confirmed it, remember what Ryan said. If its known about its not happening!

Mourinho was also clear about the future of Karim Benzema, who was linked with Arsenal in several of this morning's newspapers. He said: ''There is no speculation. He is not for sale, no chance.''

Jose Mourinho insists Real Madrid are not in talks to sign Emmanuel Adebayor, despite the Manchester City striker watching the pre-season victory over Leicester. Asked if he was looking to seal a permanent deal for Adebayor, Mourinho said: ''No. He is here because he is our friend and he belongs to us. He is one of us. It doesn't matter if he is playing at Real Madrid or Manchester City or another club, he is one of us.

Mourinho added: ''If he comes he comes, if he doesn't it doesn't matter. We will all know by August 31st who is in and who is out and where they are playing. But today he came as a friend and he is always welcome.

benzema not one of the 2 RM players so...

harry is in game 40 , 50 years and dont tell me he is unsure of what he wants. Of course i would love 2 top center forwards but at same time even in rest of first team we can improve. we have to keep evolving. we have modric bale vdv as a great starting point for world class players, build on it all over pitch is name of game. we need to strengthen miiddle of field and center half positions as well as winger to challenge bale and lennon especially.

Like harry said 3 top players is what he wants

No one is saying that, but 22 million which is smashing our transfer record isn't exaclty pocket change...but I guess he's young with big resale value...very attractive from that point of view.

If it doesn't impinge on our ability to sign an upgrade in the striker department thats fine by me...but I have my doubts.

First time ontoday. Not sure if all the brownhead stuff has been talked to death already but personally i think it's misinformation, Why? not sure but i just can't see DL have such a collapse on this issue.

Mata won't be coming to us, Harry confirmed it, remember what Ryan said. If its known about its not happening!

That was in terms of agents and other clubs using our name to encourage interest, if Redknapp says Mata is a target and Levy is dealing I would take it at face value and I'm sure ryan would confirm this.

By your logic when a signing is announced on the OS it would be a lie to deflect attention away from our real signings who we won't be announcing, or fielding in matches for fear of people finding out.

It very likely does when you consider how many players we need to shift already, adding another player to our bloated squad pushes us further over the 25 man limit.

... i dont know if your being serious. but i took his comment as a joke... by saying if harry knows about it its not happening.I might be wrong

That's probably true on reflection, it's hard to tell in this section with people swinging between elation and deep depression between sentences, searching for ITK meaning in their navals and hanging on every word uttered by ITK's.

Its hard to tell if he was or not - most people make it clear its a joke/sarcasm somehow but that wasnt the case in this instance.

Benzema? Are people out of their fucking minds????

2, now potentially 3 failed transfer windows (bar VDV) since qualifying for the Champs League, its no wonder a few of us have lost our minds a little

I'm no different, gonna get Kaka and Benzema faces tattooed on my arse cheeks.

One would certainly hope so mate, but there will be a lot of dissappointed people if nothing really comes off because we have been chasing deals that havn't been realistic or even necessary.

Yea for sure. Now that we know we're actually after Mata, if we don't get the striker we need it will certainly be more frustrating.

I want to be clear to everyone who may not already know. The chances of us signing Benzema or Higuain are extremely unlikely. Benzema and Mourinho have been in the papers for the past three months saying how much respect they have for each other and Mourinho has even gone so far as to say he can make Benzema the ultimate striker. Higuain on the other hand is the new Raul, he will score goals from any position and he works very hard (again another one Mourinho has stated he will be keeping).

The only players we have any chance of signing are Diarra (considered surplus), Gago (has never shown decent form since he signed for Madrid), Drenthe (has caused trouble at Madrid), Garay (has been replaced by Varane) and Canales on loan.

On the question of Kaka, he is a Galactico that doesnt fit the system Mourinho wants and he's been out of form. Even so, Milan regard him very highly and before we would even get a sniff clubs like Inter, Bayern, Chelsea and Man City would be itching to sign him (be it loan or transfer).

Im usually interested in hearing ITK but you dont have to be ITK to know that some of the information being bandied about is complete BS

There is another player. If Real sign Adebayor, it may be him that they are prepared to loan to us.

I am sure its possible to be after more than 1 player at once...infact im pretty sure we're after a few. So IF Mata does sign im pretty sure it would have no relevance on us signing or not signing anyone else.
