He's not usually that cryptic so he may well just be singing the song, meaning that things are moving and no more? Dunno.

I think AVB simply had to have some period of time to assess his squad, see what he needs and who he wants to keep and sell. It would have been crazy for him to have come in and made decisions without working with his squad in training and seeing them perform in match situations.

Ok its not ideal with so little time left in the window, but better to get things right than to make assumptions without really knowing what you need.

Obviously Irons are already in fires so it should just be a matter of giving the final ok to what's wanted and Levy starting to pull some triggers.

On the surface this all sounds sensible but in our context is not quite right. Firstly, we had already pretty much signed Vertonghen and Gylfi before AVB would have been able to run the rule over the squad. Secondly, he doesn't need to 'assess' the squad to know we desperately need at least one striker.

Hopefully the assessment is to work out who to sell to raise funds for said striker.

Thank god for that, the guy even looks poor on youtube!! But aiming high is only really ok if you can pull it off. We never really seem to be able to.

I just worry how often we actually pull it off being very ambitious. Chelsea probably still want a striker with Drogba and Anelka gone, they could quite easily beat us to the punch again (I presume that's why it is so hush hush).
