Cabbage is a mild term of abuse, especially in the north midlands - 'you stupid cabbage' etc.

I think it's about selling Kaboul (big cabbage) and Soldado (little cabbage) to Galatasaray

I can't see it being about selling to be honest, otherwise the same grocer bit wouldn't really need saying.

BTW, £10 just added to the coffers. Sorry it can't be more, but in the middle of a bit of a crisis, so you're lucky to get anything.

It's about them being sold to the same club - e.g. Soldado and Kaboul to Gala, or Capoue and Stambouli to Watford.

Savoy Cabbage & Brussels Sprouts are two common varieties of cabbage. The Savoy being considerably larger than the sprout.

Savoy was a historical feudal territory of the House of Savoy during the 11th - 18th centuries, of which Turin was the capital from 1563 onwards.

Brussels is... well, Brussels.

So maybe the cryptic refers to players from Turin and Brussels.

"From the same grocery" could mean they're represented by the same agency.

A couple of players we've been linked to recently, Llorente (currently of Juventus, Turin) and Mitrovic (currently playing for Anderlecht in Brussels) are both represented by Mondial Sport Management.

So that's my guess.

That's pretty much where I am except I think it could be Benassi at Torino who was linked to Southampton as a replacement for MS. I'm not sure if Mitrovic and Benassi have the same agent though.

Would that be top secret though? As the selling club we probably wouldn't mind too much if it got out as it could drum up more interest. I guess we could be worried that it would ruin the deal if it got out, but it seems unlikely.

Suarez and Alderweireld.

Note how the cryptic says 'smaller than the other' and not necessarily 'big'.

Smaller cabbage than the other -Brussels sprout- Belgium, Alderweireld

Other cabbage is therefore Suarez, not Brussels sprout so is larger than the other.

Same grocer is Atletico.

Pretty sure it's that.
