Didn't Poch say yesterday we need to sign more players rather than a player.
Poch isn't really known for his grammar tho.
He's been highlighted as using wrong tenses and plural / singular / tenses wrongly often

Would go down as a distinctly average bordering on poor window for me in that case. Would leave us light again in key areas.
Close but no close enough.
I remain positive that we'll get it right in this window.
N'Jie left out of Lyon's squad :-0
I posted a quote by their chairman in the player thread. It was significant that he didn't issue a hands off plea at all. I think, based on previous ITK, this is really a deal that can be done if we want it.N'Jie left out of Lyon's squad :-0

At this stage there are still numerous options that we might purchase for the DM role. Illarramendi, Kramar, Bender or plenty of others haven't moved and may not but without inside knowledge we don't know what's going on behind the scenes. Read Trix's comments on how things work towards the end of the window and the obvious fact we need a DM and plenty can still happen yet.I wouldn't be surprised, I think we've left it too late on the DM front now. It's a key position in so many teams, and one which is very difficult to recruit at any level of quality. Teams aren't likely to be letting their quality specialist DM's going when their seasons have already started and they have no time to find replacements.
The only realistic purchases left in that position are Stambouli-types, and Poch has made it clear he's not interested in more of those.
Berahino is the most likely but I wouldn't be at all surprised at a winger/WF as well though.
Irritating, as the DM position is utterly vital to everything we do, and though I love Dier to bits, to have him as the only remaining option smacks rather of incompetence at a fairly high level.

I can't believe we're not targeting a suitable player in this position.
Two from
Berahino, (all ITK is looking very positive)
Njie (plenty of ITK and media links)
or Austin (we are odds in favourites with the bookies for Austin)
Plus a DM/CM, links are looking scarce here though, hoping that's due to it being kept under wraps rather than running out of options.
Then move on
Soldado (plenty of ITK and rumours this is happening)
Lennon (Villa getting strong links now)
Fazio (Lyon story is picking up)
Hopefully Ade too.
I think that's leaves us with significantly better balance, and some good integration of our youngsters is taking place also. Leaves me very happy with our summer's work.
I've read the comments, and my opinion remains that we've left it too late to get a quality name in this position. I know how things work towards the end of the window, and that only reinforces my view - big players, quality players in very specific positions, such as the ones we're supposed to be after, don't move this late in the window, not unless they're surplus to requirements at their clubs. In fact that last point is the only reason Illarramendi's name has come up recently. He's unrealistic but at least a possibility. But generally only average stopgap players remain possibilities by now and Poch has been clear that he doesn't want those.
It's all very well being active until the last minute but if it results in purchases like Fazio and Stambouli then there's very little point to it.
People clearly happy to waste their money. Two from

with berahino and njie in we finally have some scoring fire power other than kane. these two in would make this window a 7/10. if the dead wood trio leaves it would be an 8/10. who we get/or miss out when the window closes will determine if its an 8,9 or 10/10. i mean if we are willing to go up to 20m and above, kramer, krychowiak, lucas silva, irrarararararamendi are all options..
We're only making plans for N'jie. As the Rolling Stones once said,
N'jie, N'jie, when will those clouds all disappear?
Looks like they soon will do!
This coming from one called PochieI think Poch is coming on well in English since when he started. He is a credit to us and himself and his hard work. He'll come on at it even better as the season progresses - as will the mighty Spurs!
Oh come on. Optimistic views are one thing, but seriously? We've brought in one first team player so far. It might yet turn out to be exceptional, but at the moment average at best.Weve had an exceptional transfer window so far.
All that says is that a lot of ignorant, over-excitable people have placed bets on this happening. That description fairly applies to large numbers of Tottenham fans, to be fair. I'm confident hese people are wasting their money and that Austin will go to a team not in Europe this season.
When did that happen?with berahino and njie in
