"I met with the Player Committee today - the squad is determined to pull together to ensure the strongest possible finish to the season."

The squad including a contingent that downed tools to get rid of the manager on four consecutive occasions? Likely that some of those players are on this committee as well, what ever the purpose of it is who knows.
The committee probably exists to handle disciplinary measures, new players joining the squad, youth prospect mentoring, etc etc. Everyone is just extrapolating this idea in their mind of this group getting together to undermine a manager. Completely ridiculous

The players are multi million pound assets. Of course they're going to have some input. But the chairman is not making firing/hiring decisions based on the players input. That's crazy.
You sure ? Lol i think Kane has had a very large output on Levy's manager decisions last few years.
Player power rules and that is why we are in such a state right now sadly.

The Mason decision looks like it was.

They shouldn't be consulted in a major capacity at all, not in terms of who should get the gig.

I think it's very obvious that there's a lot of player power at Tottenham, more than most Premiership Clubs.

And that results in the players dictating way too much.

Sorry mate but there is no need for a bloody players Committee. None. The club are giving them even more power when they have far too much as it is.

Why do so many of our fans hate our own. Mason will do what he feels is best for club, he'll give everything of himself for the cause. We are lucky to have someone who loves the club and is ready to step in. Lets get get behind him!

Yeah I don’t get it. He did fine last time and is only 31 years old. Not sure what people expect really. He should have got the job initially.

Think it's a totally free hit for Mason after the shitshow of the last few weeks and the players will probably be up for it after finally getting rid of Conte and all his baggage, very little will be expected so for me it's a win win for Mason but please if it does go pretty well no calls for it to be made permanent ,he's miles away from that and if he has serious aspirations he needs to go somewhere else to cut his teeth rather than hanging around here as a friendly face.
No it's not a win-win. How many people didn't want him to take over as interim because of his last spell?

Going somewhere else won't do anything. We didn't give him his chance to manage so he going to wait for us if he does well? Unlikely the time will ever be right

I really hope Mason hasn't been paying attention to any of the managers for the last three years.

4. Consecutive. Managers.

There is nothing being exaggerated or otherwise here.

It continues to happen. There are players that are rotten at this club and that rot sets amongst new players and likely filters down to the youth eventually, if what you say about what this committee does is true.

If you think everything is rosy fair play, but you're avoiding the real issue at hand here. Another manager comes and goes, and they're allowed to remain comfortable.

They do not need or deserve to have any power like this.

We have plenty of posters on here who just want whoever comes in at the helm to manage and coach, how can he do that when there's a committee of players that will have any sort of say going forward? Is it any wonder we are where we are?

Want Ryan to come in and say ‘right boys, Italians have been a shit show… let’s do it my way’… drop several folk & try things differently. … 6 games left? Max 18 points… I’d take two wins & a couple of draws as acceptable… if not in Europe next yr then that’s ok. Regroup with new management. Build up steam again.

Can’t really blame Mason here, I mean look at the defensive options he has to choose from.

Same for midfield too.

mots really quite bad tbh

There's context to this.

We all know Levy is too accessible to disgruntled players - ie any player not playing - and that this undermines a manager's authority.

This shit would never fly under Fergie, Wenger, Pep, or Klopp.

Players have to respect and to some degree fear the manager's authority, or you'll never get anywhere.
