Apologies if this has already been posted or if it needs to be merged with another thread.

According to Goal.com (http://www.goal.com/en-gb/slideshow...to-a-british-core-sherwoods-six-point-plan-at) Tim Sherwood has a six point plan at Spurs. It is as follows...

1. Recall Adebayor and Assou-Ekotto
2. Build a British core
3. Let the wingers of the leash
4. Ditch the high line
5. Try two strikers as a Plan B
6. Play Levy's game

Any thoughts on this? Would you be happy if this was the way forward?

If he takes Holtby's half Englishness into account.

But really, there aren't enough good English players in the league to build a good British core, let alone in our team. Not unless we get Carroll back into the team after his loan and offer big bucks for Barkley who wouldn't want to come to us anyway..

Edit: Lallana and Shaw would be nice too, but unattainable..

I agree. Although Henderson looked pretty decent against us on Sunday

Like all but the British core bit. Ok in an ideal world but would rather just have the best possible players.

Agree with everything bar the british core ... its not essential for the team to be british, nice yes, but essential - no. As long as the players perform and we heading in the right direction - i dont think nationality has anything to do with it. You can still get a great a core of foreign players who peform well, love the club and are prepared to commit to the ideals we all have about Spurs.
If the right british players are available, then great.. but we all know how over inflated prices can be..
promoting from within would be my preferred option..

How on Earth would they know his alleged "6 point plan"?

What is looks like is a list of 6 things that AVB didn't do a very good job at. I'd bet my house that Sherwood didn't sit down at his desk and write a list like that verbatim.

Exactly it's ridiculous, the build a British core bit demonstrates that, Levy & Baldini just spent £100 million on 7 foreign players FFS! Plus the youth set up us now scouted and pulled from all over the globe!

Complete nonsense!

i can believe the british core stuff but we will need to sign a couple more better quality british players. a lot of the foriegn players imo dont really care enough and are more focused on not getting injured for the world cup.

we can afford to sell a few foriegn players imo because we are overloaded in the middle with unsuitable combinations and need a new defence.

If you believe the British core stuff why would Levy only 4 months ago spend over £100 million on 7 foreign players?

People can say what they like about Levy's running of the club, hiring & firing etc but economically he's no fool, he's not going to spend that sort of money on foreign players and then demand a British core especially when the top teams barring a struggling UTD have anything but a British core.

And some on here are arguing that we aren't starting over again....Sherwood may turn out to be the best manager since Fergie, but i would be shocked if he is a success...why?...just a feeling tbh.

Who would you suggest - where are these technically good English players? And why would English players not be focused on getting injured for the world cup when foreign ones are?
